I recently used your website to book accommodation in Katoomba, staying at the Carrington Hotel. I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw a room advertised for $*** for the night and so I immediately booked it. The advertisement initially did not indicate the currency being used to quote and so I assumed it was in Australian dollars. I had only just booked other accommodation days before through Expedia which was quoted in Australian dollars.*Unfortunately, I did not read the fine print and when I went to pay for the night at the hotel I was charged $***. I was shocked. After leaving the hotel I read the fine print to discover that you had quoted an Australian hotel, booked in Australia in American dollars. I feel I could be forgiven for not even expecting this to be the case considering my history of booking through your website. I feel that you mislead me in my decision to book that particular hotel. I think the company should be very clear to consumers upfront re the currency that the accommodation is being quoted.*I had booked accommodation in Hervey Bay, via Expedia, just a few days before and all quotes were in Australian dollars. So, I had no reason to believe this booking would be otherwise. I have since cancelled my other booking as I am very disappointed with the lack of transparency in your method of quoting.
