The issue in GetHuman-ghostinm's own words
We have a Eureka Airspeed vacuum. My roommate said it was broken because it was smoking badly. It had that burning belt smell. They thought it was an electrical issue. I figured right away it was a belt problem and offered to look at it. I turned it on and yes it did smoke horribly within maybe * seconds. I knew its wasn't an electrical smell. It was obviously the belt. I took the top off to see what the issue was with the belt or belt drive. With the top off I turned it back on and it no longer smoked or had the buring belt smell at all. I checked everything thoroughly. There was nothing at all obstructing the belt. The roller was spinning fine. I couldn't find anything at all that could have been causing the belt to burn. I replaced the top and turned it back on. There was no smoke or burning smell and everything is running fine. My question is what could have caused this? There was absolutely nothing jamed in the belt. In fact in was quite the clean. The belt drive was spinning smoothly. I've had many problems with belts burning from objects jamming the roller etc. Also nothing at all flew out of it when I opened it and turned it on. Any ideas to what was going on? Thank you
GetHuman-ghostinm did not yet indicate what Eureka Vacuum should do to make this right.
