I had called Crunch Fitness in Placentia before May *st to make sure my membership didn't renew because I didn't want to pay that huge fee once the year was up. They told me I didn't have to do anything-that it wouldn't renew. (The manager I spoke to would tell me later that the associate probably assumed I had paid for a full year and I was month to month. I had no idea there was a difference, I just didn't want anything to renew). I received an email this morning saying there was any issue charging my card. I called the gym right away and the general manager told me I owed $**.** which included the $**.** annual fee billed on May *st, * late fees, and * monthly charges. These charges had been stacking up and I had no idea because they couldn't charge me. I also haven't even checked in to that gym for around * months which their records will clearly show. Also, I had not received any communication about them not able to process payment until today. I asked him if there was anything he could do considering the situation and if there was anyone hire up that I could speak to. He told me he was the general manager and it was his call. I went into the gym today to cancelled and they billed me the $**.**. I think this is pretty obscene considered I had already called trying to make sure nothing renewed and I wasn't even made aware these charges were stacking up. Additionally, I haven't even used the service for the majority of the year. I was not treated fairly and would like to be refunded.
