In April I made the mistake of not having my autopay setup for my capital one Mastercard ending in ****. That month I had a charge of $*.** from Audible.com and I was complacent and didn't check my balances. In October I noticed my balance amount, which I receive text alerts for, was $**.** and attempted to get into my account. After a password reset I found I was * months past due for the original balance of $*.**. On October **nd I paid the balance off and am not contesting any Fees as this was my mistake. **I would like to see if Capital One would remove any past due marks on my credit reports. I feel the damage to my credit is not commensurate to the ONLY past due amount I've had since short selling my home during the recession of **** in Las Vegas. The balance was paid off and they auto-closed the card. It only had a $*** credit limit so I rarely used it for day to day bills so I'm okay with the account closing and any damage to my credit because of this. But showing a negative credit mark for a $*.** balance not paid makes me sad :(**Thank you for your help and understanding.**Mike (capitalone account email is *****@***.com) but due to the sheer amount of email that account receives I utilize my work email more which will be listed below.
