I bought (with gift receipt) a dress for my grand-daughter's birthday on Oct.**th. I bought it at the St. LAurent MAll in Ottawa-good service. However, the sales associate did not point out the ** day return policy to me. When you are travelling to Calgary with a Roots gift arrival Oct.**th, you are closing that ** day window rapidly. My daughter in law decided to return the dress to the Roots at the Chinook MAll . She was given a very hard time by the sale associate as neither she nor I were aware of the ** day return policy. She must have just missed the day .The sales associate was not prepared to bend and eventually very reluctantly agreed to an exchange. As a grandmother , I am appalled . Grandmothers are a substantial part of Roots children's clothing line business. Why should I purchase through your stores again ,if daughters-in-law and grand-daughters are going to be treated to bad service and a less than flexible return gift policy? Service like this travels through the grandmother network . We can always find other children's clothing lines with whom to do business. The dress still had original tags and had never been worn. I am willing to send you the date I purchased it and the date my daughter in law attempted to return it. *I understand your return policy but is it really fair when we are dealing with a gift ? Does it need to be accompanied by bad customer service from your Calgary store associate. Shame on Roots . This was a birthday gift, folks, for a two year old, from her grandmother.
