I am planning to start a construction business focusing on building ready to move (RTM) mobile homes for First Nations bands across Saskatchewan. I am of Aboriginal descent and intend to have my office and business address based on-reserve. I have reviewed Section 87 of the Indian Act, and there seems to be ambiguity in this area. To ensure tax exemption, I am wondering if it is permissible to construct the homes off-reserve and then sell them on-reserve. While my office and headquarters are on-reserve, is it acceptable for the actual construction to take place off-reserve before the homes are sold and moved on-reserve? The sales will occur on-reserve. Must the homes be built on-reserve for tax exemption purposes? It is important to note that these homes will specifically cater to First Nations bands for on-reserve housing.

As a senior and retiree, I occasionally do demos at a store. Since I don't receive a T4 from the Company I work for, I consider myself self-employed as a contractor. I'm wondering if I can deduct household expenses like telephone bills, hydro bills, gas bills, property taxes, meal expenses, and Shaw bills since I use my computer and printer for work. How should I go about claiming these deductions on my income tax return, and what documentation do I need to support these claims?

I e-filed my income tax return but received an email about an issue with my account. I am unable to reach anyone to discuss this matter. I made a payment of $3,[redacted] for my taxes via the bank, possibly overpaying. My main concern is the lack of communication, as I don't want to risk penalties for underpayment. I am missing line [redacted] from my previous year's taxes and couldn't print out this year's line [redacted]. I may need to redo my taxes and make another $3,[redacted] payment, which would financially strain me. Without clarification, I might refile by March 18, [redacted], using the remaining funds I have. There doesn't seem to be a phone number available to speak with a real person. I am worried about this situation. - Carl A. (born September 14, [redacted])

Hello, my name is Antonina Dimitrova. I have already submitted my [redacted] tax return. I made double the contribution to my RRSP in March [redacted] and February [redacted] because I forgot about the first one. When I sent my tax return, I didn't have the slip from Sunlife Institution for these contributions. I didn't claim the first RRSP contribution, so I didn't gain any advantage from this error. The contributions are not showing as "unused RRSP" at CRA. Do I need to withdraw them from Sunlife and then contribute them again? I'm worried I might owe money to CRA despite never claiming these contributions. How can I rectify this issue for next year? Thank you for your help. Regards, Antonina Dimitrova.

I was informed by the CRA helpline that I am not eligible for the 1st-time Home Buyers RRSP withdrawal. Despite never purchasing a property, I married my spouse who fully owns the house we reside in. I have not contributed to a mortgage either. Although I wish to withdraw $35,[redacted] from my RRSP to assist our daughter in buying her 1st home, the helpline indicated that I would be classified as a homeowner due to my marriage to a homeowner. Even if my spouse were to pass away, I am registered in the will with a "life-interest" in the house until my death, without actual ownership. I am uncertain if this information is accurate, disallowing me from participating in this program, as it appears unjust. - A.L. Castellan

We are experiencing a GST/HST matter concerning GST/HST[redacted]68RT0001 for Bayview Seniors. Although we are a non-profit organization, we occasionally use the number for renovation projects funded by us. Our most recent claim was for renovations in [redacted], and we believe it was submitted in the same year. We have now applied for another renovation, and Charles D. LeBlanc from Service Canada has asked for proof of our HST/GST number. Unfortunately, our previous member, Alvin Fairweather Cumberland Bay, who managed these documents, has passed away, and we are unable to locate the necessary paperwork. Our current Treasurer is Dale A. Barton, and our President is Patricia MacNamara with Sharon Miller as the Secretary. Without authentication of our GST number, our application might face rejection which would be devastating for our local community. We urgently need to provide this information to Service Canada, specifically to Charles D. LeBlanc, at [redacted] Your assistance in expediting this process would be greatly appreciated to ensure our application for New Horizons for Seniors is successfully considered.

I received a letter requesting further information about my medical condition. I submitted the T2201 form along with a list of medications and other relevant information. My mental health condition has remained consistent except for changes in medication. I have ongoing leg issues and receive cortisone shots from Dr. L. LeBlond at the hospital. He will also be performing surgery on both legs. I'm unsure if the details about my leg problems were included in the forms and letters I sent. I thought I had provided a list of all my medications and necessary information through Tax Choice. I apologize if my tone seems frustrated, but dealing with my mental health issues can be overwhelming, leading to a fight or flight response. I believe the medication list I sent should have explained most of my issues. If needed, I can obtain a list from the pharmacy or a note from Dr. LeBlond regarding my leg condition. I'm willing to provide x-rays, images of bruises from falls, and blood test results indicating inflammation. Today is challenging for me, but I want to ensure I provide all necessary documentation for my medical review.

I would like to inquire about the following: 1. Could you please provide my current balance for tax owing? 2. When and how will I receive the code to un-restrict my CRA account? 3. I am concerned about the long wait times. I called at 3 PM and it is now 4:52 PM. I am currently in the process of writing this email. I am unable to take additional days off from work. I work Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM due to traffic, saving for school, and the recent payment of +$1,[redacted] after paying +$3,[redacted] in previous years. I simply want to speak with someone to gain clarity on the situation to better plan, save, and have a less stressful future. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sincerely, D. Nguyen

I am a parent of 2 children receiving the Canada Child Benefit (CCB). Currently, my benefits are on hold as they require an update on my husband's worldwide income. However, my husband and one of our children are in Canada under the CCB program, and we filed our taxes separately in [redacted]. My husband did not have any income while in the Philippines before moving to Canada, and I have provided his [redacted] tax filing online through my CRA account. I am currently in the Philippines with my youngest child on a short vacation, finding it difficult to reach the CRA due to long international calling wait times. I am seeking guidance on how to clarify this matter with the CRA and appreciate any assistance. Thank you. - Jaemeca B. L.

Subject: Issue Claiming Climate Action Incentive Hello, In April, along with all Canadians, I received a CRA postcard indicating an unclaimed $[redacted] for the Climate Action Incentive payment. I followed the steps provided at Canada.ca/climate-action-incentive, including downloading schedule 14, registering online, and attempting to update line [redacted] on my return. Unfortunately, I encountered a roadblock as I was unable to revise line [redacted] despite following the instructions meticulously. I tried calling 1-[redacted], but was informed that the service was not available in Toronto. Resorting to the “submit documents” portal, I found no other way to address this issue with CRA. I am frustrated by the lack of communication avenues provided, especially given the detailed steps I have taken thus far. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, R.

I believe that there have been instances of tax fraud involving Debbie Edge and our father, George Verne Offen, paying fines for her previous offences in the early 1990s. More recent incidents involve potential scams targeting our elderly father while he was at Agape Hospice in Calgary. Witnesses Dianne Kemp and Robert Smith can attest to the psychological abuse and fraudulent activities, including false claims for retraining due to a car accident. Additional activities like ocean kayaking and snow skiing were mentioned with witnesses like Kathy Smith and Kiel Edge. ICBC has recommended reporting Dianne Kemp to the police. There are concerns about defrauding our mother of the DND Supplementary Death Benefit. Attempts to report the latest incidents to the CRA fraud tip line did not result in satisfactory assistance.

I have invested in four companies for land purchases through Olympia Trust in Calgary, Alberta. They have informed me that I need to transfer these investments to a RRIF before I reach the age of 71 on Nov. 24, [redacted]. On Olympia's statement, there is a small cash value listed for each company. However, when I requested this amount to be transferred to my bank as part of the RRIF, I was told there is no cash value available. When I inquired about this discrepancy, Olympia stated that the companies determine the cash value. Upon requesting the funds to be released, I was quoted a tax of over $[redacted] and a release fee of over $[redacted] by Olympia. I am puzzled by this situation and the delay in processing the transfer. I was informed that they must adhere to certain regulations. I wonder if these regulations are set by the CRA or Olympia themselves. I am unable to afford the taxes and fees they are asking for. I seek clarity on this matter.

About a year ago, the CRA contacted me claiming I was owed a refund, but then said I owed $[redacted] instead. My tax preparer at H&R Block confirmed with the CRA that this was a scam, as the refund they mentioned was from [redacted] and not requested by me. Now they have sent me to collections. I am willing to pay if I do owe, but I need help to resolve this issue. I received conflicting information from the CRA, stating both that I owe and that it's a scam. Please email me promptly to clarify the situation. I am facing health challenges and struggling with chronic pain, so this added stress is difficult to handle. Your urgent assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, this is Lonnie Root. I am currently abroad and unable to connect via phone due to long wait times. Recently, I discussed a GST payment matter regarding our account R[redacted]62 - Hometech Contracting. A follow-up call was requested by December, but I have been unable to reach out as I am overseas. The contact number given was 1-[redacted]. Could the office kindly return my call at [redacted] on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays? I will be reachable on those days. Thank you.

I am currently in the process of obtaining my father's estate, which has been cleared through probate. I have already paid his taxes for [redacted]. Now, I need to change the name from Ronald Wilson to Bryan Wilson at the same address, [redacted], [redacted] 20th Ave South, Surrey. I will be residing there and it's now my responsibility to handle all the taxes. I would like to set up monthly payments of $[redacted] until July, with the remaining balance due in full that month. I have attempted to make this request via phone but waiting on hold for hours is not feasible for me. Please assist me with this matter promptly, as I intend to make this change effective starting January 1st. Thank you, Bryan.

I recently received a T4A for my Canada Pension, stating I received $60 on June 30, while showing retirement benefits of $[redacted].98, with a taxable benefit of $[redacted].61. I have not received this money but have been taxed for it. It's frustrating to be taxed on money I haven't received. I prefer a phone call at [redacted] instead of email to discuss this matter further. My social insurance number is [redacted]40. - Arlene M.

I received a notification at my workplace about wage garnishment from the Canada Revenue Agency for a debt of $11,[redacted].84. They will be deducting $[redacted].99 from my pay starting February 19, [redacted], until the debt is settled or the CRA provides new instructions. I am unsure about the reasons for this debt and need to change the payment schedule. My spouse was severely ill for years and recently passed away. Our finances were mainly used for his care. The deducted amount is significant, and I am unsure if I can manage it. I am considering contacting somebody to discuss this matter further. Thank you.

Hello, I have been disabled for two decades now, and my wife has been my caregiver and supported our family during this time. I believe there might be a caregiver benefit she is eligible for. Traditionally, I have been the primary tax filer, and my wife has been listed as my dependent. I am unsure about the process of claiming this benefit and would like to know the correct way to do so. Given that she has not had any income due to caring for me, I am curious if there are any advantages or support available to her in this situation. Thank you, John

I have a Consumer Agreement with CRA, and the administrators informed me of an error in my payments by Allan Marshall & Assoc. They stated that my monthly payments were applied to the wrong account, and they were unaware that the correct account was not receiving the payments. Now they are asking me to pay CRA, along with interest charges. I am confused about why I am being held responsible for a mistake made by CRA or the Administrator. I fulfilled my agreed-upon payments, so it doesn't make sense for me to pay additional interest on money that was received.

I am not eligible for unemployment insurance as I was supposed to start a contract today, March 23, [redacted], with the Catholic School Board until the end of June [redacted]. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and school closures mandated by the government, I am unable to work. Even though the CRA is supposed to provide supplements, I am unsure how to register for them. The local EI office in Bracebridge, Ontario, and online resources direct me to the CRA. I am feeling overwhelmed with worries about the virus and need clear instructions on what steps to take. Please assist me during this challenging time. Thank you, H. Leclerc
