My complaint has gone forward to Risa Cabral of CIBC’s Client Care office. I have produced documentation to show that Shanon has asked to close her account and that Microsoft has closed the account. Risa is investigating but in the meantime CIBC Visa continues to send monthy bills now with interest added. As things stand, CIBC Visa is the only party who continues to believe this account has not been closed.

It is our fifth attempt to obtain satisfaction. Following my wife's diagnosis with stage IV cancer, it became necessary to put her affairs in order. During this process, we uncovered a standing charge attache*d to her CIBC Visa account. Despite efforts, we cannot close this account though we notified you of our intention to do so on April **, the last date we will accept the need to pay this account despite you still billing us.*The confusion has probably come because your bank first accepted and then without notification rescinded my legally constituted power of attorney. I gather that Shannon must speak with you directly, but her health does not permit her visiting a branch or tolerating your phone messaging service.*Continuing, investigation indicates these monies are paid to Microsoft, so can you confirm this billing represents a pre-authorized debit to Microsoft? *If that proves true, can you then tell us what further action and by what party is required to close this account since some termination mechanism must exist. Finally, if that must be between ourselves and Micorsoft, at least provide us with a contact within their collections department. *I look forward to your prompt response.
