The issue in GetHuman912097's own words
We currently own a **** Buick Enclave, VIN *GAKVCKD*DJ******, that we purchased as a Certified dealership vehicle from Suburban Motors in Troy, MI. We purchased it with **,*** miles in December of **** (I believe). It recently rolled over the ***,*** mile mark but had been exhibiting a minor (intermittent) transmission slip issue for a couple of years. Recently it became worse so we took it to our local Buick dealer, Superior in Battle Creek. We told them of the suspected issues and they performed a "diagnostic" on it coming back with a recommendation to replace the struts and front rotors. We expressed that those items had nothing to do with what we were experiencing but they said they checked the transmission and it was fine. In an attempt to alleviate the issue we had the transmission flushed. Even driving the vehicle home, it still exhibited the same issues. We then took the vehicle to a mechanic and told him what we were experiencing and the Buick dealer recs. He checked the vehicle and found the transmission plug hadn't even been checked. He could tell by the undercarriage grime on the plug. Upon his further inspection he advised the transmission was full of metal shavings and was exhibiting hard and delayed shifting. His words were "this transmission is shot". He also concurred that the struts need replacing and possibly the rotors. We then went back to Superior to notify them of the findings and to advise if the transmission was shot, we'd have never flushed the transmission. They are "looking into it" but so far we have no resolution. Additionally, I started driving Buick vehicles when I turned ** years old. We've had * Buick Regals, * Buick LeSabres and the Buick Enclave. We've never experienced transmission issues and especially in a vehicle that's only * years old. The Enclave has been driven by my upper-**s wife as her everyday driver. She babies the vehicle so there is no reasoning for a transmission failure. She does drive several miles as she is a school teacher at a school approx. ** miles away. I guess we're looking to see if there's any assistance available from Buick in dealing with the transmission and the flush charges from the local dealership. I'm also a GM Cardholder and have been for several years.
