I was trying to log into Blogger, after approximately a year away. During that time, we updated phones and I perhaps forgot the password for the Blogger account. I enter the last one I remember, but to no avail. Blogger automated suggestions are to fill out the Account Recovery Tool or to search for a solution in the community help forum * help desk. I've tried all these remedies over and over... ... Blogger's Account Recovery Tool makes me feel like I'm stuck on a roundabout with no exits. I'm unable to access my decade-old blogs to which I've contributed much work and research, so this is a great loss for me. I am unable to access my old email linked to the blog and cannot update the info required to access the account because I am locked out of my own account. I'm a writer and artist, not a tech expert and much of the community forum advice is beyond my realm of knowledge. Would a doctor tell a patient to go look up their own diagnosis in a medical encyclopedia, then ask their peers to perform surgery? This is honestly what it's like to use the community forum. I no longer remember the password for the old email - where verification codes and password change codes are being sent. Another obstacle occurs due to an obsolete phone being listed as the recovery phone. My husband switched to a new phone and I was away from Blogger for many months so did not foresee this would affect my log-in. I have tried the Account Recovery Tool, verified I'm human, and entered codes numerous times with hopes of finally accessing my Blogger account. I tried, to no avail, to change my old email password via Microsoft. The Microsoft form asks for email addresses and subject lines from most recent emails, but I haven't used the email address for anything except logging into the blog for years. My full name is listed in the blogger profile and it's the same name I list when filling out the account recovery forms. I would like to be able to explain this situation to live customer support at Blogger.
This is especially frustrating because numerously repeated efforts to recover the account via the Account Recovery Tool are time-consuming, but end with messages to my current email notifying me that information I provided is not sufficient to verify my ownership of the blog accounts. I feel like a dog chasing its own tail.
Such a wonderful website * service must have real humans involved in its creation and maintenance. Please, Blogger if you have in your employment a human who can allow me to provide proof of my blog ownership - I would be so grateful! I want to log into my blogs and update them.
I've enjoyed using Blogger's features for a decade and enthusiastically encouraged other writers * creatives to share work via a blog. It is reassuring to know Blogger takes customer account security seriously, but very frustrating to be an account owner locked out of my own work and unable to update these creative platforms which are so important to me and such a large part of my life.
At GetHuman's suggestion, I contacted a Just Answer tech expert who provided a Microsoft contact so that I could attempt to access my old email account, which required information such as email subject lines and passwords too old for me to remember. I am therefore unable to access the old email linked to the Blogger account.
