The issue in GetHuman-couchro's own words
We stayed at the Baymont Inn and Suites in room *** at *** Outlet Center Drive in Georgetown Kentucky Wednesday, May *, **** - Thursday, May **, ****. Thursday morning my wife Janice, sat down on the desk chair and the leg immediately broke, tipping my wife and the chair over backward slamming her head into the wall and also hitting the PTAC unit. Please see the attached photo of the chair and also the hole in the wall and PTAC unit caused by her hitting her head on them. As you can see, when the leg broke off, it broke off in a sharp Point. That sharp point dug into the carpet wedging my wife in between the stuck chair and the wall. Her head hurt and her neck was also hurt and severely bent as her head was bent down sideways all the way to her shoulder as her body was tightly wedged between the seat of the chair and the wall. Her body and the back of the chair were not quite touching the floor she was so tightly wedged in. It took me three or four minutes to get her unstuck. After I made sure she was not in any immediate danger, I went down to the front desk to report the incident and to hopefully fill out an accident report form. I was told that they had no accident report forms. I asked if he had something that he could write down for a record what had happened. The gentleman at the desk replied “why”? I was extremely upset but kept very calm and explained that my wife was upstairs crying with a very sore head and neck and that I was afraid that she could have a concussion and or neck or spinal injury and I wanted a record of the accident in case any medical attention was needed due to this incident. I went back to my room to check on her and she was slowly getting packed and ready to check out. I helped her downstairs and to our car. I then went back to the front desk to once again let them know how upset we were and to try to get someone to record the incident. There was now a young lady at the desk and she told me that she had been informed of what had happened. She said that she had been told to offer to take us to a med station. My wife did not want to do that and just wanted to get to our hotel in Pigeon Forge, where we were going to vacation, so she could rest. *We are now back home and I am writing this for a couple reasons. I want you to have a record of what happened in the outside chance any permanent injury results from this. She had neck pain our entire vacation and still has some pain. Also, I was quite unsatisfied as to how your staff handled this situation. They obviously were untrained to handle this type of thing and treated me as a big inconvenience that they wanted to go away. *I am also sending this to Baymont Inn & Suites Customer Support, Wyndham Hotel Group and Booking.com to make sure this is well documented. Please reply and let me know that you received this email.
