We requested services for energy to be turned on Friday ** May at a new address. We were waiting for services Friday when I called Ambit at approximately at **** pm to ensure that services would be turned on that day. The representative stated that ONCOR had all day to set up the services. when we called back around *pm to inquire as to when would we be connected would the energy be connected, we were informed the *rd party verification had not been done. We completed the *rd party verification and called Ambit to request expedited services. The representative stated there would be a $*.** fee and we agreed to have services expedited. Saturday morning at **** we called Ambit to ensure the request had been made and that ONCOR was informed. The representative assured us that we would have power within *-* hours* that never happened. We called Ambit again and the representative stated that Ambit had completed their responsibilities with the connection and that we should call ONCOR. We called ONCOR and was placed on hold and was informed to leave a call back number: ONCOR called and stated the reason we did not receive services is because Ambit back dated the service request to ** May??? They also stated their system would not allow them to connect services unless the order was of a current or future date. Ambit had closed and my family were confined to a home without power in temps well above *** degrees. As a new consultant and customer I am more than disappointed in the lack of attention to details. I know we are humans and a typo in dates should not void a request for services, however, Ambit should have someone available to address emergencies like the one my family is experiencing.
