What are the towing and impounding procedures for illegally parked vehicles?

Asked 6 months ago
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) follows specific towing and impounding procedures for illegally parked vehicles. Once identified, a violation notice is issued to the vehicle owner or driver with a specified period for settlement. If the violation remains unresolved, MMDA-accredited towing operators are called to remove the vehicle to an MMDA impounding site. Prior to towing, proper documentation is conducted, including taking photographs to serve as evidence. Upon repossession, a Towing Receipt is given to the owner or driver, indicating the location and contact details for retrieval. To claim the impounded vehicle, the owner must present valid identification and settle outstanding fees and penalties. Failure to retrieve the impounded vehicle within a prescribed period may result in further penalties, auctioning, or disposal. It is important for vehicle owners to promptly address their violations to avoid inconvenience and additional costs.
