What should I do in case of a power outage?

Asked a year ago
In case of a power outage, first, check if the outage is limited to your home or if it affects your entire area. If it is just your home, check your circuit breaker to make sure the problem is not internal. If the outage is widespread, report it to your utility company. Avoid opening the refrigerator and freezer unnecessarily to keep food from spoiling. Use flashlights instead of candles for safety. Unplug electronic devices to protect them from power surges when the electricity comes back on. Stay informed about the outage by tuning in to a battery-operated radio for updates from your utility company.
