How does radiant barrier work?

Radiant barrier works by reflecting radiant heat. It is a reflective insulation product that helps reduce heat transfer through radiation. When the sun's radiant energy strikes a roof, it heats up the roofing material. This heat is then transferred into the attic space and eventually radiates into the living areas below. However, by installing radiant barrier, made up of a highly reflective material, on the underside of the roof, it blocks the majority of radiant heat from entering the attic.
