What is the difference between genuine leather and PU leather?

Asked 6 months ago
Genuine leather, made from animal hide, is known for its durability, natural texture, and unique characteristics. It ages gracefully and develops a rich patina over time. On the other hand, PU leather, also known as faux leather or synthetic leather, is a man-made alternative crafted with a fabric base coated in polyurethane. While it may resemble real leather, PU leather lacks the same level of longevity and authenticity. Genuine leather has a higher price tag due to its quality, while PU leather is more affordable. Furthermore, genuine leather is breathable and tends to be more comfortable compared to the often non-breathable PU leather. Ultimately, choosing between genuine leather and PU leather depends on personal preference and the desired balance between cost, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
