How do I read my natural gas meter?

Asked a year ago
To read your natural gas meter, locate the four or five dials on the front of the meter. Starting from left to right, write down the numbers on each dial. If one of the dials is between two numbers, record the lower number. Compare the numbers recorded with the previous reading to determine how much gas has been used. Subtract the previous reading from the current reading to calculate the amount of gas used during that time period. Make sure to read the dials in the correct order and note any suspicious fluctuations in usage. If you have any further questions or concerns about reading your meter, please don't hesitate to contact us for assistance.
