What is LASIK Eye Surgery?

Asked a year ago
LASIK Eye Surgery is a safe and effective surgical procedure designed to correct refractive errors in the eye, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. It involves using a laser to reshape the cornea, the transparent front part of the eye, in order to improve vision and reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses. During the procedure, a thin flap is created on the cornea, which is then lifted to expose the underlying tissue. The excimer laser is then used to remove precise amounts of tissue, sculpting the cornea to the desired shape. The flap is then repositioned, acting as a natural bandage. LASIK is performed on an outpatient basis, with minimal discomfort and a quick recovery time, producing long-lasting results for most patients.
