How long does the SAT exam take?

Asked 6 months ago
The SAT exam takes approximately 3 hours without the Essay section and approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes with the Essay section. The exam consists of four main sections - Reading, Writing and Language, Math (No Calculator), and Math (Calculator). Each section is timed, with the Reading section lasting 65 minutes, the Writing and Language section lasting 35 minutes, the Math (No Calculator) section lasting 25 minutes, the Math (Calculator) section lasting 55 minutes, and the optional Essay section lasting 50 minutes. It is important to note that there are also breaks scheduled during the exam. Test takers should plan to arrive at the test center early to complete check-in procedures and avoid any potential time pressure.
