What are the requirements for obtaining a pharmacist license in California?

To obtain a pharmacist license in California, certain requirements must be fulfilled. Applicants must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from a Board-approved school, completed a minimum of 1500 hours of pharmacy practice experience, and passed the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and the California Pharmacy Law Examination (CPJE). Additionally, candidates must submit fingerprint impressions for a criminal background check. Foreign graduates must successfully complete a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) and have their certifications verified by the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC). Applicants should also disclose any prior disciplinary actions or criminal convictions on their application. Completion of a California Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam may also be required. Upon meeting these requirements and submitting the necessary documentation and fees, applicants can apply for a pharmacist license in California.
