Hello, I am troubled by the actions of logging contractors such as Renea Caron in Maine, coming from Canada and spilling hydraulic fluid without reporting it. Disposing of old fuel and oil filters and leaving empty buckets scattered around the land is unacceptable. It seems they believe it's fine due to differences in laws between Canada and Maine. Additionally, not compensating contracted workers for their harvest work, as in the case of CB Gould, Dirigo Timber, and MG Transport, all seemingly connected companies, is unethical. These companies seem to operate under different names to avoid settling their bills. This behavior not only tarnishes the reputation of loggers but also impacts hardworking individuals who rely on fair compensation. I believe it is crucial to address these issues as there are better companies to engage with. Such practices should not be tolerated as they harm honest workers and undermine the integrity of the logging industry.

I am considering purchasing a permit for the Coos Bay [redacted],[redacted]-acre area. Unfortunately, I lost contact with someone who was going to provide insight on the elk numbers. I prefer speaking to a live person since this is my first time buying a permit. I hope to receive information that will support my decision to get the permit.
One thing I know is that last year, the area above Lyons was restricted for permits before you could enter. I am very familiar with that area, and the elk and deer populations are alarmingly low. The ban on using dogs has been a significant mistake that I fear won't be resolved until there are no more elk left to find. So, if anyone managed to secure a permit for Lyons, they would likely not encounter any elk. The substantial herd has disappeared, sadly.
