I would like to share my negative experience with a bank employee in Othello, WA. Today around 1:10 pm, I tried to deposit 2 checks and was denied by a lady named Olivia V., who insisted I needed more "identifications" as I only had one. Even though I've been a customer for years and have never needed more than one ID before, she rudely refused, pushing back the checks, and said I needed additional identifications, which I find absurd. She even suggested I bring my husband with a marriage certificate to prove my last name, which is also ridiculous since the account is for my minor son, and my husband is not listed. It was frustrating to find out she was the manager when I asked to speak with someone in charge. I wanted to close my account, but she demanded more documentation. I felt disrespected and discriminated against, especially as a Hispanic customer. Thank you for providing a platform to express grievances. Sincerely, Kenia V.

When attempting to reach you by phone, I encountered significant difficulties. On 1/15/20, I made three separate attempts lasting 1 1/2 hours each without success. The following day (1/16/20), I tried twice more with no luck. The recorded message repeatedly claimed a wait time of "2 more minutes, 3 more minutes," but no one ever came on the line. I was informed that associates were assisting other customers, but no one ever helped me. Additionally, I reported fraud on my account on 1/7/20, with no transactions at the time of my call. Shockingly, $76.38 was approved the next morning, 1/8/20, despite my report. I urgently request a refund into my account. This experience, compounded by my work responsibilities, has been frustrating. Effective communication and representation are essential for any banking institution, and I may need to consider alternative options if these issues persist.

I attempted to reset my password on your website but was unable to due to the security question about my first dog that I could not recall. Despite asking for another question, I was not granted one and was not asked for any other identifying information like my date of birth, address, or phone number. My account number is on file, yet I never received a debit card. A subsequent call informed me that I am now unable to use phone services and must visit a local branch for assistance. Given my age of 84, lack of transportation, and the current pandemic situation, this solution is not feasible. Providing my mortgage loan number did not help either. The customer service agent seemed inexperienced or disengaged during our conversation, which left me feeling frustrated. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Miles A. Peterson

As a small business owner in Southern California, I have a recommendation regarding banking with Umpqua Bank. I recently encountered several limitations and issues when I opened a business checking account with them at their Irvine branch. The branch only has two employees, does not operate on weekends, and has limited hours during the week due to a midday closure. I faced difficulties with my ATM card due to an error in setting up my account with the wrong contact information. This caused problems with card activation and transactions at US Bank ATMs. I encountered a deposit issue at a US Bank branch in Yorba Linda, where the deposit did not reflect in my Umpqua account, resulting in overdraft fees and rejected checks. Despite efforts to resolve the matter by contacting the branch and Umpqua Bank's customer service, the experience was frustrating due to lack of knowledge and support. The mobile deposit system also has restrictions on deposit amounts. Considering these challenges, I question whether banking with Umpqua Bank is suitable for small businesses in Southern California.

I recently had to close my checking account due to fraudulent activity. A few days ago, I successfully transferred money from the closed account to my new one. However, I received conflicting information from various sources about transferring the money. Despite being initially told it wasn't possible, I managed to transfer it through an online chat. Now, I'm instructed to contact the Tillamook store in Oregon to reopen the account to access government-issued unemployment funds. This process was not an issue previously. I urgently need assistance to transfer $1,[redacted] from my closed account before it gets returned. I'm facing challenges reaching my bank for help, and I am seeking a resolution promptly.

I'm having trouble with my online banking password. Every time I log in, it doesn't remember my password. I reset it with a text message code, create a new password, and access my account. But when I try to log in again, it asks me to repeat the process. I've gone through this three times now and think there might be an issue. At 85 years old, I wonder if I'm making a mistake somewhere.

I have been struggling for nearly two months to reset my online account, which was locked due to alleged fraud. After getting my computer cleaned and receiving a confirmation from a store agent, I was advised to call for a code to regain access. Despite multiple attempts over the past week, each call lasting up to 38 minutes on hold, I have yet to receive the necessary assistance. After finally speaking to an agent, I was put on hold for an additional 20+ minutes until my phone died as it is my sole communication method. Subsequent call attempts have resulted in similar long waits. Without a password, I cannot sign in to any account. The only way to retrieve information on my balance is by visiting a local store approximately 30 miles away, which is highly inconvenient. All I seek is a resolution to access my account efficiently. Sincerely, D. Morris.

I am facing issues with using Rocket Money. The message from Fox at Plaid explained that due to an "internal server error" with Umpqua Bank, the connection cannot be established. This could be due to security settings on the bank's end. Unfortunately, the support team is unable to resolve this, and I may need to wait for Plaid to fix the issue. Fox suggested downgrading to a free subscription until the problem is resolved. Although this news is disappointing, I appreciate the transparency and assistance offered. If there are any further questions or concerns, I can reach out for more help. Hopefully, this matter will be resolved soon. Thank you for your understanding. - Ladd
