We bought two Trane units, one in December [redacted] and the other in January [redacted]. The unit I am inquiring about is model 4TWV8048A1000BD, SERIAL # 21034K7MIF. We have a service contract with Service Wizard for biannual maintenance. During their visit on May 31st, they found a failed part under warranty, which TRANE has agreed to cover. However, Service Wizard needs to replace most of the refrigerant to change the part, costing around $[redacted]. Since it was a TRANE part that failed, I believe TRANE should cover at least half of the labor and refrigerant costs to fix it. Service Wizard mentioned it's not feasible to reuse the refrigerant, and refilling it will take several hours after the part replacement. I have three Trane AC units, two installed in December [redacted], and this one in January [redacted].
