I am seeking assistance with determining my tax withholding for a new job starting on April 3, [redacted]. One important factor is that the family health insurance cost with my new employer amounts to 26.5% of my gross pay. I have calculated that I could potentially reduce this percentage to 15% by opting for a combination of COBRA and my employer's insurance. However, it's worth noting that the cost of COBRA is not pre-tax in this scenario.
In using a withholding calculator, I included the combined cost of COBRA and my employer's insurance for the remaining 39 weeks of [redacted]. The calculator output advised a withholding rate of 8. I am uncertain if the IRS can offer guidance on this particular withholding situation or if it would be advisable to consult a CPA. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Hello, I am Aneisha Cooper. Recently, I received a 5071C notice and followed the instructions as directed. I attempted to verify my identity online, by phone, and through appointments. Due to limited transportation options, the IRS in Dallas, Texas advised me to send my information and a written letter to the Department of Treasury in Austin, Texas, or to the address listed on the top corner of the 5071C letter. I have completed this step, but I am unsure if I sent it to the correct location. I have not received any communication yet, and I hope that my identity information remains secure. I also have a concern regarding my filing status; while I selected "head of household," it seems I may need to choose "single" for processing. Thank you for your assistance.

I am trying to obtain my W-2 transcripts from locations in Salisbury, Maryland, and Washington, North Carolina. I worked at Wendy's in North Salisbury, but the management there is unresponsive, making it difficult to request my W-2 since I have relocated before it was sent out. Similarly, I worked at McDonald's in Washington, NC, but have faced challenges as the individuals I lived with have moved before the W-2s were issued. Urgently needing these documents to file my taxes, I provided my current address in Harrington, Delaware, for both companies to send my W-2s. Despite attempts to reach out, I have not received a response, and time is running out. I fear missing the deadline due to a lack of updated address records. McDonald's in NC has also not provided my W-2, although my last paycheck was sent to my current address.

My former spouse and I have a divorce agreement stating we can each claim one child on our tax returns. She claimed both, resulting in my return being denied when I attempted to submit it through Turbotax. Turbotax instructed me to still file the return. After consulting with a tax professional, I was advised to contact the IRS to rectify the situation. I am struggling to reach the IRS as there are no specific prompts available when calling their number. I urgently require the necessary form from Turbotax to finalize my return and avoid rejection. I am unsure if there are any additional documents I should include with my Turbotax submission to prevent further issues with my refund.

I used TurboTax to file my taxes, but there was an error with one of my W-2 forms. Initially, I owed $[redacted] for federal taxes, which was debited from my account on 4/1, and I received a $[redacted] refund from the Iowa state return on 3/26. The IRS sent me a letter stating there was a mistake and I needed to pay more. After investigating, I found an error in box 12 of a W-2. I corrected this by filing an amended return with TurboTax and sent it with the correct W-2 today. I am unsure about the status of the deposited and withdrawn amounts. Will they be reversed once the amended return is processed?

Referred by Social Security for assistance. I am on disability and haven't been able to work since July. Living in a tiny condo without a functioning kitchen for 6 years, only having a refrigerator and two burners. I had a fall at the end of December and now have a knee issue, with medical bills piling up. The neurologist advised against long walks due to issues with my spine and Spina Bifida. I've been struggling with food scarcity for months, having had two credit cards closed with $10,[redacted] in debt accumulated from using them for necessities like gas and food.

I recently attempted to file my [redacted] electronic Income Tax return (Form [redacted]) and received a message stating that the person I was filing for, Nyla D. Rease (SSN: [redacted]), was deceased. However, my husband, Larry Rease (SSN: [redacted]), passed away on December 17, [redacted], not myself. For [redacted], I filed an individual tax return for just me, Nyla D. Rease. I contacted Social Security, and they confirmed that I am not listed as deceased and I receive my monthly retirement benefits. This issue also occurred in [redacted], but was resolved, and now I am facing the same problem again for my [redacted] return. How can I correct this error as I cannot even schedule an appointment to provide documentation proving that I am alive and it is my husband who is deceased? I need to address this matter to proceed with my [redacted] taxes.

Hello, I have a question about incorporating W-4 exemption figures into payroll calculations. I'm using Microsoft Excel for payroll spreadsheets and understand tax deduction formulas, but I'm unsure how to factor in the W-4 exemptions. For instance, if an employee has a W-4 figure of 3, how does this impact deductions each pay period? I've researched online and used templates, but none explain this aspect clearly. I'd appreciate any help or guidance on how to handle W-4 exemptions within payroll runs. Thank you.

I am experiencing multiple issues that need to be addressed. Initially, the IRS owes me money, but I faced obstacles when trying to file my tax return due to Marpat Wright’s interference with my computer. Despite my attempts, she blocked my filings, causing financial distress. Marpat Wright has allegedly stolen significant sums from both me and my companies, creating new enterprises with the ill-gotten gains. I aim to initiate legal action against her and retrieve the embezzled funds, necessitating all records of her tax filings. Additionally, I believe Marpat Wright, along with other individuals, engaged in a grand international scheme involving burglary and theft from my properties and businesses.
In light of these events, I am pursuing legal action and seeking guidance on addressing these matters, including retrieving stolen funds and reclaiming my identity. I am preparing complaints to the IRS, and would appreciate details on where to direct these submissions. Furthermore, Marpat Wright’s involvement in heinous actions, such as kidnapping my children, underscores the urgency of this situation, prompting my pursuit of corrective measures and justice through appropriate channels.

I previously spoke with an IRS agent who advised me to submit my divorce paperwork from [redacted], indicating that my ex-husband and I were to alternate claiming our son on taxes. However, since [redacted], my ex-husband has been claiming our son every year, despite the arrangement. Our son turned 18 and moved out before the end of the year.
I have my ex-husband's social security number for verification. I waited until our son turned 18 to address this to prevent further issues. Despite our 50/50 joint custody, our son lived with me for the first ten years and then chose to live with his dad.
My ex-husband was supposed to pay child support but fell behind, leading me to expunge everything. He is aware of the court order but has not followed it. I need guidance on where to send the court paperwork to resolve this matter.
Thank you,
Janelle Montes

When attempting to submit my tax return using Turbotax, it was rejected due to an AGI mismatch from the previous year's return. Despite filing with Turbotax and sending the return by mail, I later learned that last year's return seemed to be missing. This situation is complicated by the passing of my husband last April, whose email was linked to Turbotax, making it impossible for me to access potential rejection emails. Additionally, contact with the IRS revealed that they had no record of my previous year's filing. Even after re-submitting the forms previously mailed, the system still shows no record of my filing. This issue is hindering me from filing this year's return. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My significant other turned 70 last May. Unfortunately, he had a massive stroke on July 30 and is now unable to speak clearly. He is currently bedridden or in a wheelchair and has been in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation centers since then. I tried to assist him with his Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) but faced challenges due to not being married, which led to delays. Despite completing all necessary forms to move his funds to an IRA, we ran into technical issues. Despite multiple promises from future advisors to fix the problems, no action was taken until I spoke with Damien Ta at FA. However, the delay was too late for a timely withdrawal. Now we are waiting for Mr. Ta to inform us when the RMD can be made, but I have been told that IRS forms need to be filled out. Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

In [redacted], I went from being single to getting married. My wife is a non-resident alien in the US while I am a US Citizen. I wish to file a joint tax return, but my wife does not have a Social Security Number (SSN) yet. She has an application pending with USCIS for an SSN. The IRS states that if there is an SSN application pending, do not submit Form W-7. I am concerned that not filing jointly may result in missing out on a significant refund. I seek advice on whether to file the tax return or request an extension until my wife's SSN is issued (expected in May). Even applying for an extension requires obtaining a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), which seems contrary to the IRS guideline. Your guidance on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Regards, Val Stamboltsian.

On April 3, [redacted], the same day my deposit was supposed to be in my bank account, I was informed my account had been closed. The following day, April 4, [redacted], I attempted to open a new account with the same account number provided for my refund. The website advises checking with the bank on April 8, [redacted], if the deposit does not appear. As of April 9, [redacted], a day past the advised date, I have not seen the deposit in my account. How can I proceed to receive my refund now?

I have a question regarding claiming my dependents. I have custody of four of my nieces and nephews, two through the Department of Children and Families (DCF), and I have adopted three of them. When I tried to claim them on my taxes, it got rejected as someone had already claimed the two youngest children, aged 4 and 2. I want to know what I need to do for the [redacted] and [redacted] tax years to claim them. The 4-year-old has been with us for over three years and is already adopted. It seems like their mother claimed them, even though the children were in our care during the whole process.

I'm having trouble e-filing my returns because of the First Time Home Buyer credit I took in [redacted]. I have been repaying $80 per year, but my home hasn't been my principal residence since November [redacted] when it was vandalized in a high-crime area. I couldn't move back in, so the house went back to the lender, and my family moved into a housing complex. When I select the option for no longer being a principal resident, TurboTax removes form [redacted] from my filing. I contacted TurboTax support, and they mentioned that in this situation, the repayment should be forgiven, and I need to reach out to the IRS.

I have two issues to address. Firstly, I have printed out Form [redacted] for my [redacted] Tax Return. I am wondering if I should mail Form [redacted] along with my tax return or to a separate address. Secondly, I currently have a tax payment installment agreement from last year. I am concerned if this year's installment agreement will be combined with the existing one or if it will be separate. Also, I am unsure if I will have to pay the $95 setup fee again since I already have a prior arrangement from last year. The reason for my increased tax liability this year is due to not updating my filing status from head of household with 1 dependent to single after my son's marriage. He now files jointly with his spouse, leading to extra tax burdens for both of us. Is there a way to correct this designation and amend my tax return? The penalty of $[redacted] is quite burdensome for me, especially considering my decreased income of 50% in the past years.

I require a non-filing letter for my FAFSA to complete my school enrollment. I have attempted to contact them, but encountered "technical difficulties" every time I entered my SSN. I am Clayton G. We submitted our taxes on February 10th through H&R Block. Despite waiting for 21 days, there has been no progress on receiving our refund. My wife has contacted them twice with no success. I am concerned about the delay and would like to know how we can expedite the process. Although I understand that processing times vary, our claim is now 60 days old, and we are facing financial difficulties. I have all the relevant information and can provide case numbers and control numbers if needed. Please assist me in obtaining some clarity on this matter.
