OttLite Customer Service Issues

We purchased the Floor Lamp in December [redacted] with the following details: Item: ACDL 10F Lot: [redacted] (P93G59-FFP) 09 [redacted]. The instructions did not explain the purpose of the black plastic spacer. After contacting customer service, we discovered that it should be discarded. We found the pamphlet directions to be unclear. Three adults tried to assemble the gooseneck to the stand following figures three and four in the instruction pamphlet. Despite our efforts to align the arrow with the white plastic part in the base assembly and lock the parts together, the lamp won't secure properly. Currently, the white plastic is exposed, and the lamp falls apart when moved. We would appreciate assistance with this issue. Thank you for your help.

I purchased two Ottlite floor lamps for $[redacted] each. While one is working perfectly, the second lamp has an issue with the on/off switch. It doesn't function properly, so I have to plug and unplug it to turn it on and off. This problem arose within two weeks of buying the lamp. When I tried to seek help through Chat, they asked for a $5 fee to communicate with electricians, which I find unreasonable. For the price paid for these supposedly better quality lamps, they should work flawlessly, and I shouldn't have to pay extra for advice or repairs. This subpar service raises doubts about why the company doesn't fully support its products.
