When I first purchased my mobile phone at Hamilton Place Mall in Chattanooga, Tennessee, my husband and I both got phones and Nextel direct connect plans. After our divorce, we each got separate phones with new numbers. I've had my old number, [redacted], for so long that it's ingrained; however, I now struggle to recall my new number when needed. I've dialed my old number, and it remains inactive. I would like to reclaim my old number, [redacted].

I'm trying to retrieve my previous mobile phone number. Although it hasn't been reassigned, I've faced difficulties reclaiming it. The service was initially with Nextel, which later merged with Sprint. As they seem to be reorganizing frequently, it's unclear who they are currently affiliated with. I haven't reached out to the consumer protection agency to avoid unnecessary trouble. I'm hoping to regain my number independently without inconveniencing anyone else.
