I tried to assist my elderly parents by signing them up for a newspaper delivery deal on Groupon for 26 weeks at $60. We believed it included Monday-Saturday plus Sunday delivery as it is advertised in Illinois. It turns out it's only Sunday delivery. I want to add the missing weekday delivery without cancelling the Groupon, as they don't need 26 weeks. It's been difficult and frustrating dealing with customer service for over two hours, including a long hold time. Groupon won't refund, and the newspaper requires a cancellation to add more days, costing us the $60 we paid. We simply want a three-month daily paper delivery for $34.99, as advertised, and some sort of adjustment or credit related to the Groupon deal that caused confusion.

I have been a loyal customer of the Naples Daily News for over 25 years. We rely solely on the physical paper for news consumption, rather than online sources. Over the years, our subscription rate has drastically increased from around $15 to $36.04, which has become financially burdensome. I have been trying to contact customer service for weeks, but have not received a response to my numerous messages left on different phone numbers. I am seeking assistance in reducing the subscription cost and inquiring about classified ads, including free ad options. The current level of customer service at the Naples Daily News has been disappointing. I can be reached at [redacted] and would appreciate a prompt response. Thank you. - S.C.

On 8/30/19 at 10:10 AM, I have spoken with 3 representatives yesterday and today regarding my account showing as "inactive" with a supposed balance for 3 months. Despite having automatic payments set up with AMEX for years, I notified the company of the incorrect records. Reassurances were given each time that the errors were fixed. Strangely, the system displayed a different account number than mine, and my AMEX statement listed 3 extra $1.00 charges for Gannet Newspapers besides the usual $9.99 bill for August. I was informed that my account number was [redacted]14, the $3 charges would be refunded, and everything was corrected, advising me to use "password" as my entry password. Yet, when attempting to log in with the suggested password, it still showed my account as "inactive" and restricted any changes. It seems like I'm stuck in the same loop each time I reach out to your representatives. This situation is frustrating, and I want a complete resolution promptly. Thank you - D. Mandel.

I would like to address concerns regarding the news content provided on the website. The quality of the articles appears subpar and the accuracy of the facts is questionable. In particular, I find the writing of Brent Batten to be lacking in substance and quality. The exclusive stories for subscribers often fall short of expectations. For instance, the recent piece on Boxing Day seemed out of touch with our current location and relevance. The management of the Twitter account covering live event updates is also lacking consistency and professionalism, as evidenced by incomplete reporting on cases. I plan to escalate these issues to the BBB and the National NewsMedia Council for further review. These discrepancies raise doubts about the value and credibility of the publication. It is important to ensure accurate reporting and meaningful content rather than mere regurgitation of online sources.

Hello, I'm Craig. I reside on Pier C in Naples, FL, [redacted]. The delivery person who drops off papers to the mobile homes on my street is causing disturbance. They speed down our 10 mph street at 40 mph, loudly reversing into my driveway close to my bedroom and then speeding away. It would be appreciated if they could turn around at the parking area near the mobile homes, back up safely, and deliver the papers in a forward direction as required. Perhaps they could also consider using a silent electric car instead of a loud one. Thank you for addressing this matter. Craig.

My wife and I planned a six-day vacation in Las Vegas from March 16 to March 22. We contacted both the airline and the casino before our trip, and they assured us that everything was operating normally. However, upon arriving, we discovered that the casino's operations were not as described. There were very few people at the tables, limited slot machines, and MGM and its properties on the Strip closed on March 16. The situation worsened the following day with more closures, leaving us without a place to stay or eat. We had to search for food on Fremont Street, where we were served outside at a hot dog place. The lack of explanation or assistance for the thousands of vacationers like us was incredibly frustrating and reminiscent of a chaotic situation. -B.D.

Receiving a soaked newspaper in the driveway once again has become frustrating. Contacted customer service where an automated response handled the issue by crediting my account and informing me the driver would be notified. Despite tracking incidents, the problem persists. In the past, a local paper with better customer service would have redelivered a dry paper instead of offering apologies without actions. I was even promised a paper tube installation for my mailbox post after previous incidents, but it never materialized. It seems the carrier responsible for installations might not be fulfilling their duties. While online access is available, I prefer the physical newspaper for the word jumble and crossword puzzles, making the online option less appealing.

I am experiencing issues with the delivery at [redacted] Indian Key Lane in Westwind Estates [redacted]. The driver is driving so fast that he is unable to place the newspaper on the driveway. My mother-in-law, who is 87 and has Alzheimer's, wakes up at 5 am every morning to get her paper, and 8 out of 10 times it ends up on the wet grass. I have been waking up at 4 am recently to retrieve the paper before her to prevent her from slipping on the wet grass. This morning, I had to crawl under my SUV to get the paper that had ended up behind the back wheel. I urgently need hip and knee surgery, so crawling on the pavement is not suitable for me in my current condition, nor for my mother-in-law. It is essential that the paper is delivered on the driveway as she pays a significant fee for this service. Please address this issue promptly. Thank you, Debbie D.

Many subscribers have recently canceled their newspaper delivery service. I spoke with Katy in the Philippines yesterday to cancel my paper due to download issues. While I had paid through August 2, I signed up for the Naples News to begin today and was billed $19.99 instead of the $14.99 July rate. Unfortunately, the paper did not arrive at [redacted] Bentley Drive as expected. There seems to be ongoing issues with Naples Daily News delivery at Bentley, leading to numerous cancellations. I have reported this issue five times already. The delivery person for the Naples Daily News on Chanteclair Drive, Naples, FL [redacted], consistently throws the nylon straps used to bundle newspapers out of the vehicle window onto our street each morning. Despite multiple reports, this littering behavior continues. Please address this matter as soon as possible to prevent further trash tossing. Thank you. - Gary Ske

Hello,
I have a concern regarding a previous case in Florida, specifically in Bonita Springs, Lee County, on 03/27/[redacted]. The following day, 03/28/[redacted], my personal information was posted on Google search by the Florida Naples Daily News. However, my case was expunged on 06/04/[redacted], and I have legal paperwork from the court as proof. Despite providing all necessary legal documentation to Naples Daily News' legal department at [redacted] on 10/04/22, specifically to a lady named Stacy, my personal information still remains on Google search. I have tried contacting them multiple times, but haven't seen any action taken yet, even after 2 weeks and 6 emails. This situation has caused me significant distress and negative impacts. I am seeking assistance in pursuing financial compensation for the harm caused by this defamation. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
J.L.

I have previously addressed this issue, but it persists. I now feel it's necessary to request credit for a sodden newspaper that I can't read due to it being wet. The newspaper delivery consistently lands next to the grass by the sprinkler system, causing it to get soaked. Despite my request for it to be placed in the center of the ample driveway, it still happens. I kindly ask for reimbursement for today's Sunday paper and urge that the delivery person be reminded of this situation. This incident has occurred approximately 10 times. - C.
