The following are issues that customers reported to GetHuman about Microsoft Office customer service, archive #1. It includes a selection of 20 issue(s) reported February 5, 2016 onward. If you have a similar customer service issue, this page will help you find current, up-to-date answers and solutions too.
I have a document with four sections, each with its own Table of Contents (TOC) created using bookmarks and field codes. The issue is that each TOC has a slightly different style; for example, three have leaders, one doesn't, and there are variations in line spacing. Since I did not select a TOC style during the process, I presume it pertains to the styles of the headers used. Any suggestions on how to standardize this?

Dear support team,
I was expecting a call from your engineer today at 4 pm UK time to help with my email issues. Despite the incident number [redacted], it is now 7 pm and I have not heard from anyone.

My experience with your service thus far has been disappointing. At this point, I regret not choosing Apple.

I purchased an HP Pavilion and a Microsoft Office product key from Costco in Hoover, AL on August 28, [redacted]. Recently, I decided to wipe the Pavilion clean because it was running very slow. Unfortunately, I lost my Microsoft Office during the process. I thought I could reinstall it using the product key, but I can't remember the email address and password I originally used to set it up. I believe it was [redacted], but I'm uncertain. Since I no longer have access to that email, I created a new Microsoft account under [redacted] and would like to transfer the product key there. The product key is: MQ6NM-GQHKX-JRYHJ-26YM6-P7JCG. Thank you.

I'm experiencing difficulties with my desktop Office [redacted] products accessing files on OneDrive.com. My service provider is GoDaddy, and after contacting their support, they advised me to reach out to you. I have used OneDrive with the [redacted] programs for about two years without trouble, and I have already read multiple online articles without success. I would appreciate speaking with someone to resolve this matter.

I believe my computer has been compromised. While checking my emails, a message suddenly appeared claiming someone was trying to take control of my system. A recorded voice urged me not to shut down or restart the computer to prevent the hacker from accessing my files. I was instructed to call a toll-free number for help. A technician posing as a Microsoft employee remotely accessed my system without clear permission. He mentioned a contract renewal was missed, rendering my security systems ineffective and leaving me susceptible to takeover. After a lengthy discussion, he proposed payment options for extended coverage, persistently pushing for a virtual check despite my preference for using a credit card. Another individual named Andrew joined the call, increasing my unease. Although he displayed supposed Microsoft credentials, the transaction did not go through. Eventually, my bank flagged the situation as suspicious, prompting the closure of the account. I have details of the individuals involved and seek clarification if they are truly affiliated with Microsoft. Your assistance in resolving this matter is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Robert W Brinkmann

I recently discovered that my old Hotmail account was deleted by Microsoft when I tried to access my deactivated Facebook account. I've created a new Microsoft account with a different email, but I wanted to use the same name as my old Hotmail account, which was not allowed. I need my original Hotmail account restored because it is part of my real name. This issue has caused me a lot of trouble trying to access my Facebook account since I no longer have the same phone number and can't remember the passwords. I want to make sure my Hotmail accounts for formal and business purposes are still active. I will need to check the status of those accounts and get back to you.

I received a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft support at 1-[redacted], named Eric. They mentioned waiting for my call. I advise contacting support and filling out a form for fraud calls. If they are not addressing the ongoing fraudulent activity, why should I invest the time and effort to provide them with information? Collaborating with them might aid in stopping these deceitful calls. I suggest reaching out to them, pretending to be someone else, like Dennis, to possibly gather more details. It's essential to take action if you care about addressing the issue effectively.

I recently downloaded Microsoft Office to edit my resume on Word. However, I'm facing an issue where it still shows "no license." After contacting the call center, I was incorrectly advised about refunds, which were never processed. This led to repurchasing the product without a resolution. Given the importance of editing my resume for job applications, this has become an urgent matter. Approximately $[redacted] has been taken from me, and I feel extremely frustrated. I am contemplating escalating this situation to an international court due to suspected fraud. Despite my efforts to resolve this through the provided help number, the issue persists. I am hoping to connect with an American representative whom I can rely on to resolve this matter promptly.

I am currently attempting to access my previous email account on live.com. I am uncertain if my account has been compromised. Despite multiple efforts to reset the password, I am facing difficulty recognizing the first two characters of the recovery email address provided. While I attempted phone recovery, after entering the verification code sent to my phone, it prompts for additional verification. Accessing my email is crucial as I have the associated phone number for verification. Despite completing the account recovery form thrice with details like my name, date of birth, zip code, state, first pet's name, and past passwords, I was informed insufficient information was provided. Even after seeking assistance from support and following the password recovery link provided, I was unable to resolve the issue through phone assistance. I am hopeful that Microsoft will reach out to me promptly via email.

I attempted to update my Microsoft subscription payment method with my new RBS Visa debit card. After providing the new card details and clicking PAY, the system processed the transaction with the last four digits of the new card, but the payment did not go through. I have been stuck in a loop for two days, repeatedly trying to pay without success. Initially, I was asked to assist in fixing the problem, but I am unsure of what the issue is. Despite updating my card information, the payment error persists.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from I Tec Geeks, stating that our computer was hacked. Initially, they requested nearly a thousand dollars but reduced it to $[redacted].99 due to us being seniors. After cashing the check, they mentioned going out of business and relocating from the U.S. to the U.K., asking for a refund. They remotely accessed our computer and instructed us to access my husband's bank account for the refund, which I declined. Despite hanging up, they later convinced my husband to allow them to access his account. This led to an argument as they attempted to request a further $[redacted].99. I insisted on verifying their legitimacy before providing any more funds. I refused to provide personal information, and the situation escalated to a point where my husband threatened to end all contact. They have persistently called, with the latest contact being from someone named Steve Watson at 1-[redacted], providing an address in Springfield, Oregon. I am seeking guidance on how to handle this situation as we are concerned about falling victim to such scams. Thank you.

1. I have a legitimate copy of Office [redacted] that I thought was Home and Business, but when I tried to reinstall it after uninstalling to fix a problem, it recognized my Key number as the Professional version. It asked if I wanted to install Professional instead.
2. The issue began when my entire Office suite stopped opening without any error messages. This frustrating situation has me considering ending my dealings with Microsoft.
3. Following online advice, I attempted both repair methods for Office, but unfortunately, they did not work.
4. The next suggestion was to use a tool for a complete uninstall, which I did before reinstalling. During the reinstall, it asked me to log in to my Microsoft Email account based on how I purchased the program, which I was unable to do during installation. However, I could log in separately. When I used the Product License Key, it informed me that my key was for Professional, not Home and Business, even though my email from the vendor indicated Home and Business. Despite trying to install Professional, it did not work.
5. Interestingly, when I initially used the Control Panel to uninstall, it displayed both programs. Now that I have been prompted to install Professional, it is showing both programs again. This situation is very confusing, and I am in need of help.

I am experiencing an issue where the songs I have saved in my File Explorer keep disappearing. Every time I try to listen to them, they are missing, and I have to redownload them from YouTube. This has become a frustrating process as I constantly lose my saved songs. I have read that many Microsoft customers are facing a similar problem. I would appreciate it if you could provide a solution to this issue and explain why this is happening. Thank you for your help, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Between January 8, [redacted], and June 6, [redacted], £[redacted].57 was debited from our account by ‘Microsoft Payments’ via direct debit. We received only 11 email notifications from Microsoft about spending on games totaling £53.50, which matches the transactions we recognize. However, there are 94 unauthorized transactions, totaling £[redacted].07, many of which are duplicates. We ask for reimbursement promptly.
Despite removing Microsoft as a pre-approved payment from our PayPal on June 6, between June 11 and June 13, [redacted], 21 transactions totaling £[redacted].83 were debited from our account with the narrative ‘PayPal Microsoft’.
We request reimbursement of £[redacted].90 promptly as these unauthorized deductions have caused our account to go overdrawn and significant stress.
