I contacted today on 7/2/18 to cancel my subscription. I waited on hold for over 15 minutes until I spoke to an operator. I informed them of my intention to cancel, they requested information and asked why. When I requested not to be put on hold again since I had already been waiting for over 15 minutes, they still placed me on hold. After 5 more minutes on hold, the call got disconnected. This experience was very unprofessional. The poor customer service encountered during the cancellation process might make me reconsider my decision to cancel the subscription. Please cancel my subscription immediately. I am lodging a complaint regarding the unprofessionalism of your customer service. Thank you for acknowledging this communication.

Your editorial in collaboration with The Boston Globe seems to be part of a concerted effort to discredit the president by labeling everything he says as a lie. To qualify as a lie, a statement must be knowingly and deliberately false. Honest mistakes due to inaccurate information or misinterpretation do not constitute lies. Your editorial appears to aim at shaping the perception that President Trump is always wrong, rather than presenting accurate facts. I believe in a free and impartial press that respects its readers and presents information objectively. Unfortunately, Newsday no longer fulfills its role as an unbiased news source. Therefore, I have decided to cancel my subscription. Dr. Richard J. Dackow, 15 Donald Street, Eastport, New York, [redacted]

I recently ended my 31-year subscription with Newsday, as the cost surged to $[redacted].52 for 8 weeks, a $32 increase from before. This averages $21.19 per week, whereas buying daily editions + Sunday collectively costs $19.99. During my call to customer service, I was disappointed to be told, "that is the price & we do not care about loyalty."

I requested Brainbenders with my Newsday subscription. Initially, I received them monthly, but then they stopped. Despite contacting customer service and being assured they would be sent, they never arrived. After completing an online survey indicating poor service, I received the July edition but not August. I'm concerned about the reliability of the service or whether the delivery person is not providing the magazine due to lack of tipping. I appreciate the newspaper but am dissatisfied with the customer service provided.

I have only been receiving my Sunday paper without the Thursday edition and weekly coupons for Long Island for the past three weeks. Unlike my neighbors who don't receive Newsday, I am not getting the Thursday paper and coupons in the mail. Missing out on the King Kullen coupon worth $10, I am losing more than $30 in savings. I have tried calling three times for 5, 7, and 12 minutes each at different times to get assistance. Previously, when I contacted the Melville NY office, my issues were promptly resolved over the phone. If this level of service continues, I may need to discontinue my subscription altogether.

My credit card company recently notified me of a 17.76% or $10.74 increase in my monthly bill. I am concerned about not receiving any prior notice about this significant raise. I feel this sudden increase is unjustified and would like to understand the reason behind it. I wonder if this hike was an error on the credit card's end. I wish I had been informed earlier to assess whether I want to continue with the services. Could this be linked to a decline in ad revenues?

I believe I am experiencing harassment from a Newsday representative, Ms. Dixon. We previously resolved a dispute over credit card charges via phone, during which she advised me to contact my credit card company to dispute the charges. Today, I received a call from Ms. Dixon requesting an additional $[redacted] charge to my account, despite us already resolving this matter when I disputed the initial charge. She has now threatened to involve a collection agency. As a long-time Newsday reader with excellent credit, I find this level of customer service concerning. I am requesting a call from a different representative, not Ms. Dixon, to address this issue calmly and promptly.
Sincerely,

We used to receive our Newsday before 6:30 AM every day, allowing us to read it before work. However, recently our paper has been consistently late, not arriving before 7:00 AM as requested. As loyal customers for over 30 years, this change is disappointing. Despite numerous phone calls to Newsday, the issue persists. Even this Sunday, November 18, [redacted], the paper did not arrive before we left for church at 9:00 AM. We reside in Farmingville on Oaklawn Avenue and are hoping for a resolution to this ongoing problem.

I am extremely unsatisfied with Newsday's service. I originally signed up for free digital access until the end of the year, enabling me to read the news from my desktop. Unfortunately, I misplaced my password, which now prevents me from accessing Newsday on my phone or iPad. Despite my attempts to reach the right person for help, I have been unsuccessful. Recently, I spoke with a woman from a department handling public complaints, and she expressed her apologies and assured me that someone would contact me. However, I have not received any follow-up. As a result, I am still unable to access Newsday through my phone or iPad. This experience is frustrating, especially considering the numerous alternatives available in the market. I kindly request prompt assistance in resolving this matter. I have also shared my experience with friends and family, who have encountered similar issues with Newsday. Thank you.

A few months back, I expressed my concern about the inconsistent newspaper delivery to my front door. Despite the improvement in having it delivered to the correct location, I'm disappointed to note that the delivery times have worsened significantly. The paper now arrives after 7:15 on weekdays and after 8:30 on weekends, with a rare exception today at 7:45. I am a loyal subscriber and expect a more reliable service. Please address this issue promptly. Additionally, the delivery person includes an envelope for tips about every 4 weeks. My advice for them this year is to enhance their delivery service. I reside in the Windbrooke Homes condo complex on Feller Dr in Central Islip. Each morning at around 4:30am, I walk my dog and notice a black SUV delivering papers to the community. Regrettably, the carrier's driving behavior is concerning as he often speeds through the parking lot, surpassing the 15mph limit. Today, when I asked him to slow down, he accelerated around the corner. Due to not carrying my cellphone outside, I couldn't gather evidence of his reckless driving. Could you identify and talk to the carrier about driving safely? While I acknowledge the importance of timely deliveries, his speeding poses a risk to residents, especially when many are out with their dogs or children in the complex during early hours. I hope for a resolution to prevent any accidents or property damage caused by his dangerous driving. I want to address this matter as it affects the safety of our community.

I recently received a notice with my newspaper stating that during snowy weather, the paper will be placed on my lawn in a colored bag to prevent damage. This poses a problem as the paper can get covered by additional snow during a snowfall, making it difficult to find. My front lawn is also where I shovel snow, and distinguishing the walkways from the lawn is a concern when the delivery person places the paper. I have a designated box for the newspaper on my mailbox post, per Newsday's guidelines, and it would be more practical for the delivery person to place the paper there. If this request cannot be met, I may need to cancel the subscription due to past issues. I have encountered problems with papers being thrown on my driveway, causing potential damage to my snowblower and requiring me to dig them out. Newsday and the delivery person need to be aware that they will be accountable for any damages to my equipment if the paper is not placed in the designated box provided.

Dear Customer Service Manager,
I, David Waring, am writing to address the ongoing issues with my Newsday Sunday delivery subscription. Despite reporting three missed paper deliveries and speaking with multiple representatives and supervisors, my concerns have not been resolved. Despite assurances of follow-up calls and actions, the problem persists. When the paper was eventually redelivered, it was carelessly thrown near the sidewalk, rather than on the porch as requested, putting it at risk of theft and damage from weather. Furthermore, the redelivered paper was incomplete, missing various inserts.
I seek an assurance from a manager or supervisor regarding a consistent delivery person who will ensure the complete delivery of my paper every Sunday and place it securely on the covered porch. The lack of accountability and communication from Newsday is disappointing, and the failure to address the delivery issues within the promised timeframe is unacceptable. Without a satisfactory resolution, I may have to cancel my subscription and consider a switch to a different publication like the New York Times.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
David Waring

Hello, my name is Mad Max. I signed up for the Sunday special at $.79 for 26 weeks in February via email. I provided all my details and credit card information. I realized after purchasing last Sunday's paper that I was supposed to receive home delivery. However, the paper did not arrive, even though I received a confirmation email stating the subscription would be for the Sunday paper. When I contacted Newsday customer care, they claimed my phone number was incorrect, despite it being my only contact number. I am unsure when I will receive the paper and do not want to risk buying it unnecessarily. Aside from contacting my credit card company, I am unsure of what actions to take. Please update me on the situation. Thank you.

I am a lifelong Long Islander and a dedicated reader of Newsday. I have questions regarding the recent selection of the top [redacted] LI prospects for baseball. I am curious why Private Schools, specifically those playing in public school conferences, are never considered for this list. Many players from Private Schools on Long Island excel and go on to play college baseball but are seemingly overlooked. It is essential for these talented athletes to have exposure and recognition for potential recruitment by college coaches. The belief that Private Schools do not field Varsity baseball teams causes a disparity in opportunities for these deserving students. There may be biases against Private Schools, but these students are typically hardworking, academically inclined individuals who should not be dismissed. I urge Newsday to reconsider its criteria for selection and acknowledge the diverse and committed students in Private Schools who embody sportsmanship, integrity, and talent. Thank you for addressing this issue.

I am a Newsday subscriber trying to track down information about a wine critic named Danny who may have worked for Newsday in the 1960s or 1970s. Danny used to leave personal messages for his girlfriend's daughter, calling her "Bunny." His girlfriend was Bernice Rosenberg, who may have been using her ex-husband's surname. They likely resided in Great Neck, NY, and Bernice was a successful travel agent. Any details about Danny's employment at Newsday would greatly assist me in reuniting an adoptee with their family. Thank you for your help. - Jacqui Wexler Rosenberg

I need to address an issue I have with the article dated May 5, [redacted], on Page E26 by Michael R. Ebert titled "Valley Stream student wins art contest." My granddaughter, Giana J., received an honorable mention at the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington, along with three other students, yet none of the honorable mentions were acknowledged in the article. Even though she wasn't the winner or in the top list, I was equally proud of her accomplishment. The article failed to mention the efforts and talent of Giana and the other honorable mentions, which disappointed me. Giana was delighted to be recognized among [redacted] submissions, and it's disheartening that her achievement was overlooked in the newspaper. Let's give credit where it's due to Giana and all the honorable mentions for their hard work and creativity.

I wanted to address concerns about the Nassau County Fire Marshal, known for abusing their powers nationwide. County executives struggle to control them, earning them the reputation of Gestapo headquarters in the tri-state area. Several companies, including ours, can attest they do not prioritize serving or protecting citizens. Their excessive minimum fee of $4,[redacted] is unprecedented in the USA, often surpassing the cost of the actual job. The N.C.F.M. has been accused of spreading negative rumors about companies to favor those who share their interests. Assistant Chief Fire Marshal Michael Uttaro confided such behavior to me years ago. We seek support to challenge their authority with compelling evidence to back our claims. Unfortunately, the fear they instill has prevented any effective opposition until now. I fear their overreach may eventually lead to their downfall. The situation is more complex than described.

I am concerned about the behavior of the Nassau County Fire Marshal, known for abusing their powers. Despite efforts from county executives and politicians, they seem uncontrollable. Referred to as Gestapo headquarters, they allegedly do not prioritize serving or protecting citizens. The minimum fee of $4,[redacted] is excessive and leads to complaints from multiple companies. There are claims that the Fire Marshal spreads negative stories about businesses to favor those who comply. These serious allegations were supposedly made by Assistant Chief Fire Marshal Michael Uttaro. Many feel intimidated by the N.C.F.M. and fear repercussions for speaking out against them. It's hoped that someone influential will address these issues and bring about change. The ongoing reign of the N.C.F.M. might face consequences if their conduct doesn't improve soon.

I am writing concerning the Nassau County Fire Marshal, who is notorious nationwide for abusing their authority. Despite efforts by county executives and politicians, they continue unchecked, earning the nickname "Gestapo headquarters" in the tri-state area. Several companies, including ours, can provide evidence that they do not uphold their duty to serve and protect citizens. With exorbitant minimum fees like $4,[redacted].00, often exceeding the cost of the actual job, their behavior is questionable. Moreover, they are known to spread negative rumors about companies in exchange for favors. An Assistant Chief Fire Marshal, Michael Uttaro, even confirmed this. We are seeking support to address this issue, as many are too intimidated to speak out against them. If they continue on this path, their reign may eventually crumble when faced with opposition.
