I am Cheri L. and I am looking for my fiancé, Kevin B. C., who arrived at JFK on May 16th around 5 am. He has been detained due to bringing an item from his military service. He mentioned getting COVID on Friday and hasn't contacted me in over 24 hours. He's been waiting for his ticket home but seems to be missing in action. I'm concerned and need to know his whereabouts. His phone is only working on Wi-Fi. I've tried calling without success and the website claims to have a live person available, but I’ve had no luck reaching someone. Kevin is usually in touch, and his silence is unusual. Please help me locate him at JFK.

My experience with JFK wheelchair assistance was extremely disappointing and embarrassing. When my family landed on March 14th from Qatar, despite being US citizens with Global Entry passes, we were directed to the visitor line which caused a significant delay. The staff overseeing the wheelchairs were unhelpful and rude, especially when we needed to find a new flight due to a cancellation. This led to us having to cover the costs of staying overnight at a hotel. It is frustrating that many of these staff members, who were immigrants themselves, treated individuals who looked like immigrants poorly. In contrast, our experiences at other international airports such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Istanbul were pleasant and the staff refused tips. It seems that part of the issue may be that the wheelchair staff are compensated based on the number of passengers they assist rather than the quality of service provided. In the future, I plan to document my interactions with JFK's wheelchair assistance to inform other visitors about the potential challenges they may face.
