Subject: Request to Waive Civil Penalty
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to request the waiver of the £50 Civil Penalty as I have just paid the overpayment of £[redacted].07 today. In January, I informed Income Support of my address change. However, it seems that this information was not updated in your system, leading to letters being sent to my old address at RG24 8YS. Today, I discovered a letter at my old address indicating the outstanding amount of £[redacted].07 plus a £50 penalty.
I settled the outstanding amount promptly upon becoming aware of the overpayment, but I appeal for the penalty to be waived. This request is due to my current unemployed status, not claiming benefits, and the fact that I did notify you of my address change, with my mother also following up on my behalf. All correspondence was requested to be sent to my new address in North London since mid-January, and we have been in contact multiple times regarding this matter.
I kindly ask for your attention to this issue. You can reach me at 0[redacted]. The overpayment was settled by my mother today using her bank card on my behalf.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best regards, Keeshaan A. S.
