Procedure D7473 for the removal of the torus mandibularis has been considered a covered benefit by Denti-Cal. According to the Billing and Payment policies, providers are not allowed to charge or receive payments for services classified as covered benefits by Denti-Cal. If Denti-Cal denies the request for approval, not only will they not cover the service, but the provider cannot perform the service even if I paid for it. It is frustrating when a covered benefit is not being honored. I hope Denti-Cal will approve the procedure with anesthesia so I can proceed with getting dentures made.
