I am reaching out in regards to my experience as a customer at Denny’s, specifically at the Boronda Rd. Salinas location where I have been a loyal patron for the past 18 years. I am disappointed in the declining quality of service at this restaurant. The staff appears to be overwhelmed and understaffed, resulting in excessive wait times. Customers are being turned away, even for parties of one, with wait times as long as 45 minutes. The service is subpar, and it seems there is a lack of managerial oversight to ensure guests feel welcome. During my recent visit, I received my pancake breakfast without syrup, highlighting the inconsistency in service. I understand that not all Denny’s locations operate in this manner. Due to these issues, I am reconsidering my patronage of this particular restaurant.

I previously worked at Denny's in Richmond, Virginia, about a month and a half ago on Broad Street. I recall a manager named Beth and the owner named Debbie. I was the only white girl working there and unfortunately faced discrimination and disrespect from certain managers who were of a different race. I experienced unfair treatment, including my apron being hidden. Due to these challenges, I decided to leave the job. Now, as I seek employment at a Denny's in Virginia Beach, I was informed by human resources that I am not eligible for rehire. I want to clarify that I left my previous job at Denny's due to the unfair treatment I received. The workplace was disorganized, lacking basic supplies, and poorly managed. I am seeking another opportunity within the company and hope to be reconsidered for rehire. Thank you for your attention.

I was wrongfully terminated from a Denny's franchise in McKinney, TX. The franchise owner, EYM, engaged in numerous unethical and illegal practices. Employees were pressured to work under different names to avoid overtime pay. The company violated policies about family members working together and mistreated employees who reported issues. Additionally, management tampered with tips, manipulated inspections, and dismissed serious misconduct allegations. Corporate did not address these complaints and instead unjustly terminated employees. The situation escalated when employees were asked to use my employee number during my medical leave, resulting in tax implications. The lack of oversight and accountability from Denny's Corporate allows these disturbing practices to continue unchecked, leading to discrimination and retaliation against employees who speak up. The disregard for employee well-being and integrity at this franchise is unacceptable, and drastic changes need to be made to address these systemic issues.

While spending time in Modesto, I ordered from Denny's at [redacted] W Orangeburg in Modesto, CA. The supposed manager Gustavo handled my order. Despite using the online service and paying with my card ending in [redacted] as usual, there were issues. My husband mistakenly switched my first and last name. Even though I had my ID with the correct details, Gustavo refused to give me the food, charged my card, and didn't refund me. The website assured me I didn't need my card for pickup, which wasn't honored. Gustavo's behavior embarrassed me in front of others, and I felt mistreated and like I was robbed. The experience was humiliating, and I won't be patronizing Denny's again, including this location.

To whom it may concern,
I had a troubling experience at Independence OH location where Anthony(MGR) was unresponsive for 1 1/2 hours. The employee mistreated me over the phone and in person, showing aggression when I wanted to place a carryout order. I was threatened and treated poorly by the staff, with one employee even attempting to physically harm me. Despite my willingness to pay by card over the phone, they refused to assist me. The interactions escalated to the point where I felt the need to report this behavior to management. Anthony was unhelpful and even called the police unnecessarily as I was leaving. The treatment I received was unacceptable, especially coming from someone who has spent years in the service industry themselves. I encountered discrimination and threats that are completely unjustifiable.
I am seeking a resolution for this situation. I believe the employee who threatened me should be terminated for their actions, along with Anthony for failing to address the issue appropriately. My goal was simply to place and pick up an order without any mistreatment, which unfortunately did not happen at this location.

My group visited Denny's at [redacted] S Orange Ave in Orlando, FL on December 25th around 10 PM. Upon entering, the waitress immediately began complaining. Despite us and three other couples arriving, and additional tables seated, it took 15 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. When I tried to place our order, the hostess insisted that larger tables needed to be served first, even though we were ready. Disappointed by the rude staff's prioritization, we chose to leave. Hopefully, in the future, they will be better equipped to handle busy holiday nights in a tourist area.

Hello! I completed my employment with Denny's in October [redacted]. During a visit to collect my final paycheck in November, my manager mentioned that it was lost. They requested my address to send it to me. As it's now January, I am inquiring about the status of my missing paycheck and seeking clarification on Denny's responsibility in this matter. My name is Thea C. and I was employed at the Daly City, California location. Thank you for your assistance, I am looking forward to your prompt response. (My time at Denny's was rewarding, and I am eager to resolve this paycheck issue.)

I had a disappointing experience at a restaurant due to my allergies. Upon entering, I noticed the waitress had perfume on, so I asked for a different seat and they were accommodating. However, when another couple with cologne sat near us while we were eating, I politely asked the waitress to move them. Unfortunately, she refused, stating it would be rude. Another employee also attempted to assist but was met with the same response. Frustrated, I ended up asking for my meal to be boxed to go. The lack of consideration for my allergies left me feeling let down by this establishment.

My group visited the Westminster, MD location on Saturday, January 12th at noon. We arrived with five people, even though two were not there yet, and we wanted to secure a table early. The manager, who we recognize as Benny, walked up to the host stand, noticed us, then turned away before reaching us. A waitress who saw us seated us instead. Our waitress, an older lady with long grey hair, approached our table with a negative attitude. She immediately asked about our drinks without a proper greeting. She was unfriendly while taking our orders, and when the rest of our party arrived, her behavior did not improve. Despite being friendly with other tables, she neglected our empty drink glasses and delivered cold, poorly plated food. When one guest pointed out mushrooms in a dish she requested without them, the waitress insisted they were zucchinis. The service was disappointing with no drink refills offered, and the manager showed no interest in our experience when we paid. This was an extremely unpleasant dining experience, and we have encountered issues at this Denny's in the past. The lack of professionalism and poor customer service left us very dissatisfied.

My name is Jose Lujan, and I am an employee at Denny's in Galt, CA [redacted]. I am filing a grievance/complaint. I was hired seven months ago as a full-time graveyard cook, but I have only been scheduled to work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, totaling only four days every two weeks. Despite numerous requests for more hours, I have not been given additional shifts as promised. Recently, I received a write-up for missing a day I was not scheduled to work regularly. When I spoke to my boss, Jacob, about my situation being homeless and living paycheck to paycheck, he removed one of my workdays, citing the missed shift. I have also noticed favoritism towards other employees who receive more workdays. I submitted a doctor's note for sick leave, but my sick hours were not processed promptly. I simply wish to be treated fairly, work full-time as initially hired, and be compensated for the days I should have worked full-time. I hope we can address this matter professionally and promptly. Thank you, Jose Lujan [redacted] or [redacted].

I was deeply disappointed with the service I experienced on January 25, [redacted]. The restaurant was nearly empty when I visited at 10:30 PM. The food was soggy, tasteless, and bland. After we finished our meal, we had to wait over 15 minutes for the bill while the server chatted with coworkers and played on his phone. We had to approach the front desk to request the bill, as we didn't want to wait at a dirty table any longer to order dessert. A friend later informed me that the server had picked his nose and wiped it on his shirt while taking our order, which I unfortunately missed since I was playing the claw machine. When I called the next day to speak to a manager, the manager accused us of lying, interrupted us, and refused to address the issue, claiming we should have reported it that night. The manager even declined to provide his name and laughed at our request. I found this whole experience to be unprofessional and disrespectful, and I am seeking resolution for this matter.

On Sunday, January 27th, around 10:00 pm, I placed an order at the Dennys located at [redacted] Sand Canyon Ave, Irvine, CA [redacted]. Despite feeling fine that day, a few hours after consuming the food, I began to feel extremely nauseated and eventually vomited. I called the following morning at 8 am to speak with the manager, who I believe is named Javier. I informed him of my situation as someone who works in the medical field and knows how to deal with food-related illnesses. I requested some form of compensation for the unpleasant experience, suggesting a refund or a gift card. Javier mentioned he would process a refund but was unable to do so at the time due to computer updates. He told me to call back later, and when I did, I encountered challenges with communication and follow-up which left me frustrated and disappointed. I hope this issue can be resolved promptly as the service exhibited was unprofessional and dishonest, and I am considering escalating this matter further if necessary.

Today, at [redacted] Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL [redacted], I called the location at 6:41 am. A lady answered but placed me on hold, talking and laughing with someone else. She mentioned there is an online menu. I felt disrespected as she never returned to the call, leaving me hanging. She spoke in Creole at times, making it hard to understand. Yesterday's visit was smooth, but today, wanting to order eggs and turkey sausage bacon for a quick pick-up before work turned into a frustrating experience. When I called back at 8:37 am to speak with the manager, I was told to call back later. Feeling let down, I'm reaching out here because the lack of customer service and disrespect is unacceptable, making me hesitant to return.

I recently had an experience at Denny's on Military Drive where I have been a regular customer. The service provided by my server, who I usually have a great experience with, has not been up to par in the past few days. The manager on duty in the evenings seems to be mistreating her, ignoring her requests for assistance, and letting other employees talk down to her. This situation has been ongoing, and the server even submitted her resignation due to these issues. I believe the manager's behavior is unprofessional and uncaring. I hope this matter can be resolved promptly as the server is the reason I continue to patronize Denny's. Thank you for addressing this concern. - A concerned customer

I was extremely disappointed with the service at the Denny’s in Miami Gardens. After waiting over an hour, I was informed that they didn't have gravy for the country fried steak and eggs I ordered. It took 15 minutes for a server to even come to my table to take my order, adding to my frustration. I have decided not to return to this location and will consider going to IHOP instead. Despite canceling my order due to the unavailability of the item, I still had to wait for an hour. This experience was completely unacceptable.

I had a terrible experience at Denny's in Streetsboro, Ohio yesterday. I drove over an hour for a doctor's appointment with a patient and on the way home, we decided to grab breakfast. Unfortunately, they were out of peppers for the omelette, the hash browns were undercooked, and the order was wrong - only one extra egg when we paid for two. The portions were also lacking, with only one piece of toast for each of us when there were three people. The sausages were also not cooked properly, and they had limited jelly options with no apple butter available. The total bill came to $46.00 for three people, and nothing was done right. The waitress was friendly but seemed inexperienced in handling so many mistakes. We even had to send back the hash browns to be cooked properly. I couldn't believe we paid $50.00 for such a disappointing breakfast. Next time, I'd rather stop at a store on the way home and cook myself.

I am disappointed by the treatment the employee received from the GM at this location. The employee asked for their hours to be checked for the past two weeks, but the GM refused. The employee worked 50 hours but was only paid for 20 hours. As a result, the employee is facing financial difficulties, risking losing their apartment and car, which impacts their ability to see their children every other weekend. The GM's statement about being there to make money is concerning, especially when said in front of customers. This situation reflects poorly on the GM, Laura, who appears to prioritize her own interests over those of the employees. Management should address this issue promptly, ensuring the employee receives proper compensation and addressing the behavior of GM Laura.

During my recent visit to the hotel on Glendale Ave, close to 89th Ave, I faced a distressing situation during breakfast. The night manager had allowed my Service Dog to stay, but the next morning a new manager aggressively confronted me, claiming my dog was not a service animal. Despite explaining and offering to prove my dog's status, he continued to be disrespectful and demanded we leave immediately. This public humiliation triggered my anxiety as someone who already seeks help for PTSD. The manager, who identified himself as Abdul, was unprofessional and insisted on false requirements for service dogs. I felt deeply embarrassed and belittled in front of other patrons. I left the premises feeling shaken and upset, an experience I've never encountered before. I asked for his name but was met with further rudeness. I sincerely hope this issue will be addressed to prevent similar encounters in the future. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, my name is Lavell Kelly. I recently started working at Denny's on Thursday, February 21, [redacted]. Right from my interview, I noticed some unprofessional behavior from the district manager, Jesus. Instead of providing me with a written schedule, he verbally told me my shifts, leaving me to call in daily to check my work times. Despite working since day one, I hadn't been scheduled until yesterday. Today, when I showed up for my shift (after calling for the schedule), a new General Manager named Tito confronted me in a very aggressive manner in front of others, telling me I can go home. When I requested a private conversation, he responded rudely. This behavior is not appropriate for a manager. Despite reaching out to Jesus for clarification on my schedule and addressing the incident, I haven't received any meaningful response. I feel mistreated and marginalized. I rely on this job to support my family, and after almost two weeks of work, I feel unwanted. I am concerned that I am being racially profiled due to a conversation a coworker had with Tito. I love working at Denny's and just want this situation addressed promptly.

During a recent visit to your restaurant in San Antonio, my family and I experienced a troubling incident. An employee verbally abused my children, and the manager's unprofessionalism extended to her not even getting my last name right. When I tried to address the situation, the response I received was dismissive, with the employee insinuating that we should just leave if we didn't like it, as if their behavior was acceptable. This made me feel as though we were being discriminated against. The incident occurred at [redacted] W US Highway 90, San Antonio, TX [redacted].
