I recently purchased Retro Sound speakers from your company. I recommend reviewing the quality control process for your products. One of the speakers arrived with a flattened "female" plug on the wires, which I was able to fix with some effort. However, I am puzzled as to why this occurred. The more concerning issue is that a set of wires was missing the "plugs" at one end (male and female devices to attach to the speaker wires). I have a photo of the missing plugs but am unsure how to send it to you. I may attempt to find replacement plugs, but I wanted to bring this matter to your attention.

Hello, I purchased a stereo head about a month ago, but unfortunately, it arrived defective. My stepson FaceTimed with Dakota from Crutchfield to demonstrate the issue as all stereo heads were out of stock. Dakota promised to provide updates by the 2nd. Despite paying $[redacted], I was offered a Pioneer head unit priced at $[redacted] due to the inconvenience. However, Dakota did not follow up as promised. After contacting him, he has now shipped a stereo $5 cheaper than the Alpine model I wanted. I feel frustrated with this entire process as I will have waited over a month to have a working stereo in my car. Thank you.

I'm seeking advice about replacing the head unit in my [redacted] Mustang Convertible that currently has the Mach [redacted] system. I've been researching on your website for compatible options, and I'm leaning towards a Kenwood unit in the $[redacted].00 to $[redacted].00 price range. However, I'm concerned about the compatibility with the existing Mach [redacted] system, especially regarding power differences, speaker ohms, and potential issues with amps. I'm looking for a cost-effective solution that will improve sound quality without requiring speaker or system replacements at the moment. I'd prefer a digital head unit with USB capabilities for high-quality audio files, easy equalizer controls, and decent bass and treble output. I'm not interested in GPS or voice-controlled features like Alexa. Due to my health condition, I need a straightforward and affordable option that ensures compatibility and won't damage my current setup. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Steve V.

I purchased an Anthem [redacted] from Crutchfield, but unfortunately, the Height1 and Height2 preamp outputs seem to not be functioning. I've tried various tests including different sources and even the onboard white noise test, but it still failed to work.
This is my first time trying to use the Height channels since receiving it new in the box over a year ago. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could try next?
Thank you,
Mike R.

I am a 68-year-old audiophile seeking assistance with understanding DACs. I have a Musical Fidelity V90 DAC and connect my Apple 11 iPhone, running Spotify at [redacted] kbit/s, via USB to the DAC, which converts it to around 92 kbit/s. Given Spotify's upcoming higher bitrate, will my current DAC limit the number of bits to my amp and reduce sound quality? I also connect it to my NAD CD player, the C525 BEE, with a bitrate of [redacted] kbit/s. Would that compromise sound quality too? Do I need a new DAC to handle the new Spotify content? My system includes a Rogue Cronus Magnum 2 tube amp, Golden Ear Triton 2+ speakers, and a Rega Planar 1 with an Ortofom 2M Red cartridge. Should I upgrade my DAC, and if so, what do you suggest for my system? Also, does a USB connection offer the best sound quality? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you! - Russ D. from Pittsburgh, PA.

I am facing a dilemma in choosing a new double din unit for my [redacted] Dodge Dually 4x4. I currently have a Kenwood Exclron DNX 6990HD but am unsure if it provides the best sound quality. I primarily use my stereo for navigation, music, and hands-free calling, and I want my steering wheel controls to work with it. I am seeking unbiased advice on the best double din unit available in [redacted] or anticipated for [redacted]. Regarding speakers, I am considering upgrading and repositioning them in my truck. I have front door 6x9s, dash 3 1/2” speakers, and rear 5 1/4” speakers, but I am open to modifications for better sound quality. I am contemplating adding tweeters and a subwoofer, potentially placing the subwoofer under one of the seats. Any guidance on optimizing my sound system would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help. - Steve

I recently contacted Crutchfield for a speaker recommendation for my [redacted] F-[redacted] Supercrew as one of my OEM front door speakers was starting to tear. Despite all the components in my vehicle being factory original, the first set of speakers I received didn't meet my expectations. After contacting them again and clarifying the system's original setup, I received a second set of speakers rated for [redacted] watts. Although they sounded better, they still didn't match the quality of the OEM speakers. Now on my third set of speakers, they sound the best of the three, but they still lack the crispness, clarity, and bass of the Ford speakers. Despite the efforts and multiple door panel removals, I am still dissatisfied with the sound. Having been a Crutchfield customer since the 1980s, I am disappointed as this level of support does not align with my past experiences. -DC

I was hoping to get in touch with you via email for general inquiries. In [redacted], I purchased a [redacted] Ford Expedition. I'd like to explain briefly why I'm financially struggling. I dedicated years rescuing pitbulls until a heartbreaking incident led me to stop in July [redacted]. I lost my beloved dog, Monkey, which deeply affected me. Recently, my family sold my mother's house, giving me some funds to invest in a better vehicle. I found a suitable [redacted] Ford Expedition, but now I wish to upgrade its sound system, focusing on hard rock, metal, techno, and house music. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am financially tight once more.
I'm not asking for any discounts but rather seeking a comprehensive list of components to gradually enhance my stereo system within my limited budget of $[redacted]-$[redacted] every month or two. My lack of knowledge in this area, combined with the overwhelming range of options, makes it challenging for me to decide. I simply need guidance on what items to purchase over time. Music is crucial to me during this difficult period as I deal with the loss of my pets. Thank you for your assistance.

Regarding my order #[redacted]3,
I believe the wrong installation kit was sent to me. I encountered difficulties trying to attach the radio brackets. I had to make modifications to the dash as expected, but ended up having to cut the brackets to accommodate the radio. Additionally, the trim panels do not fit properly as they hit the radio, making attachment impossible. Upon reassembly, the brackets are loose and likely to fall. I am seeking guidance on how to rectify this situation. You can reach me at [redacted].
Best regards,
Bob Rosi

I am feeling incredibly frustrated with my current situation. I want to express that everyone at Crutchfield has been extremely helpful and accommodating. This is the second time I have installed a DVD/CD stereo in my motorhome, and both times, I have encountered the same issue. Initially, the system works flawlessly for a few months, but then suddenly, there is no sound at all. Just recently, during a camping trip, we enjoyed watching 4 DVDs and listening to CDs and the radio without any issues. However, when I tried to use it today, there was no sound. I only have speakers "A" connected, and despite trying various configurations, I am unable to get any sound. The DVD and CD functions are working correctly, and the display is clear. I have double-checked the connections, and everything seems to be in place. I am puzzled as to why this problem has occurred for the second time.

I have a [redacted] INFINITI I30 with a premium Bose sound system and recently purchased a PAC ROEM-NIS2 Wiring Interface from Pac-audio.com to install my Pyle Radio (PLTS78DUB). After spending all day soldering wires and testing the radio using an A/C to D/C home adapter, I found that the radio works outside the vehicle but not inside. I suspect the power issue might be related to the antenna connection requirement for the factory radio. Additionally, I encountered trouble wiring the speakers, connecting the power to the cigarette lighter temporarily. I used the low-level speaker hookups on the harness but got no sound. Despite reaching out to Crutchfield for technical support, the agent named Jack was unhelpful, claiming phone static and difficulty hearing me. It's frustrating to have spent the whole day on this project and faced setbacks.

Last December, I purchased a Blaupunkt Bremen from Crutchfield. However, I have encountered some issues with the unit. After reaching out to Crutchfield's customer service, I was directed to a telephone number for Blaupunkt, but unfortunately, I have not been able to reach anyone. Upon returning to Crutchfield, they suggested contacting Blaupunkt once again. Despite sending emails to various Blaupunkt contacts, including those in Europe, I have yet to resolve the problem. Ultimately, a representative from Europe redirected me back to Crutchfield. I am fond of the unit and am simply seeking assistance from Crutchfield to resolve the issue before my warranty expires.

Hello everyone,
I am dealing with issues on my [redacted] Corolla Pioneer Radio & Display unit where vibrations are causing audio and display problems. I would like to troubleshoot the wiring and connector integrity before considering replacing the unit with a new one from Crutchfield. I am seeking assistance in identifying rear connector information and the names of the pinout leads. The local Toyota dealer provided connector drawings, but they lack precision. I have enclosed a folder with relevant information for your review to help me understand how it relates to the problematic radio unit. I am puzzled why finding information on this unit is proving to be so challenging. Thank you for your anticipated help.
Best regards,
R. King

I am looking to purchase a new stereo system for my '99 Tahoe. However, every double din head unit I have considered states that it needs to be connected to the emergency brake and engaged. This requirement seems impractical for using the GPS function as GPS units typically rely on visual displays and audio commands. It will be incredibly difficult to use the GPS without seeing the screen of the head unit, which is only enabled when the parking brake is engaged. This setup is confusing. Thanks, Brian C.
