On April 19, [redacted], my husband and I had a connecting flight with American Airlines in Charlotte as part of a trip to reunite with our son after 2 years and embark on a surprise cruise. Unfortunately, our flight got cancelled along with all standby options, and we were unable to secure rental cars. Despite our efforts, we were advised there was no way to make it to the cruise in time. We purchased travel insurance, but our claim was denied. The cruise resolution department suggested obtaining a statement from the airport confirming our situation. The rental car shortage compounded our travel woes. My sister was in a wheelchair being pushed by an airport employee when they accidentally let go on a slope. She was injured and hit her head, hips, buttocks, and knees while falling helplessly down the slope. The pilot from the same plane came to her aid, moved her back to the wheelchair, and she asked someone at the counter to report the incident. A manager named "Soliman" took down her information but has not reached out to her yet. She has no health insurance and is still experiencing pain and distress.
