A patient who survived sudden cardiac death two days ago was transferred to Royal Oak for an MRI and a defibrillator as Farmington Cardiac ICU lacked the necessary equipment. However, upon arrival, there was a lack of attention. The family had to actively seek assistance for basic needs like socks, food, and help to use the restroom. Communication with medical staff was poor, leading to confusion about the purpose of the transfer and necessary treatments. This experience left us frustrated and disappointed. It's unfortunate that after the care received in Farmington, the experience at Royal Oak fell drastically short.
