Occasional sudden power interruptions at [redacted] 275th Ave., DeWitt, IA [redacted], particularly in the mornings, have caused concern for Sylvia Dingbaum. After a recent occurrence, her new touch-screen thermostat shut off due to the power outage. While it's usually not a problem, she worries about potential issues like frozen pipes if such outages happen during winter vacations. The interruptions seem to occur on regular weather days, not during storms or lightning. Sylvia hopes to understand why these brief interruptions happen and is seeking advice on preventing them in the future to avoid similar incidents.

I had an unpleasant experience speaking with a rude representative named Jeff on Dec. 26. He was uninterested in listening to my concerns and his tone was sharp and disrespectful. On Nov. 15, I arranged a payment plan, and was told by a different representative that the next billing had been processed that day, and I could choose to pay it by the 5th as agreed upon. I was also informed that I would receive a notice and not to worry about it. I requested for Jeff to listen to the recording of my previous conversation, but he continuously interrupted me, accusing me of defaulting on a second arrangement this year. The first issue arose because of a mistake where Alliant deducted payment twice from my account in August, causing my next billing to show a zero balance. The mistake was rectified by the previous representative who acknowledged the error. However, Jeff's rude and disrespectful behavior made me feel uncomfortable and accused. I have always encountered courteous and polite representatives in the past, Jeff needs better training in respect and customer service.

I recently spoke with Sarah at your Centerville, IA call center on April 2nd at 3:00 p.m. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, I was informed there was no one available to assist me. Today at 2:55 p.m., I received a call from a number identified as Alliant Energy on my caller ID, only to discover it was actually a robo-call from a company offering assistance with credit card balances. I have experienced numerous robocalls over the years, but this one stood out for impersonating a legitimate company on the caller ID. Upon calling the number provided during the fake Alliant call, [redacted], I received a recording stating it was a non-working number associated with Alliant. As a retired telephone executive, I believe it's crucial for Alliant to be aware of these deceptive practices in robocalling. I found the process of reporting this frustrating and would like to speak with a manager to discuss my concerns about the IVR processes.
Sincerely, Charles Ricker ([redacted])

I'm having trouble accessing my account because the password I created is not being accepted, and I can't create a new one. I'm facing a significant problem with the amount owed. While I could make and receive calls on my iPhone in Fairfield, now I can't do either. This communication issue is frustrating. Thank you for your help. - Katherine Dahni. User ID: krdahni.

Account number [redacted] needs to be reviewed for the July reading at the Clarke County Fairgrounds' campgrounds. This month and the past weekends have not been as busy as indicated on the bill, especially during the Independence Day weekend. The Fair Board did not agree to have the monthly usage averaged out. Additionally, account number [redacted] at the Fairgrounds also needs to be checked. Events have been canceled due to Covid-19, resulting in minimal electricity consumption. The Fair Board, being a non-profit organization, is cautious with expenses during these challenging times. Please reconsider the billing for these accounts.

Alliant Energy has partnered with Inter Con to bury power lines in Green Lake, WI. During the initial stages, a representative visited to inform us about the project. I mentioned my concerns about the old natural gas line feeding my house, dating back to [redacted]. They confirmed it needs replacing but now mention a delay of up to 5 years. Additionally, they pointed out an issue with my meter setup. The 5-year wait is inconvenient, raising questions about why my lawn has to be dug up twice. It's unclear who will address any damage to my lawn and paved patio once the work is completed.

I work for a property management company and recently received a notice stating that our condo building at [redacted] Lawson School Road, Delavan, Wisconsin [redacted] is scheduled for disconnection on June 20th. Upon reviewing our records, it appears we have not been billed for this building among the others. I have carefully checked our files and it seems we have only been receiving seven bills per month instead of the correct eight, causing the omission of the [redacted] building. Unfortunately, I do not have the account number for this specific building since we have not received a bill for it. I hope to have this matter resolved promptly. Thank you.

Subject: Double Charges on Alliant Energy Bill
Date: 8-22-[redacted]
Hello,
I am reaching out from Mary's Organic Farm. We are a tax-exempt farm in the state and have noticed we are being charged twice for the "customer charge" on our Alliant Energy bill. Despite having only one address and being a single customer, this charge is appearing twice.
Additionally, we believe we are being unfairly billed twice for the fuel adjustment and statewide assistance fees due to having a second meter. While we understand these fees are distributed among customers, it seems unreasonable to require us to pay them twice simply because of the second meter.
Please address these concerns promptly.
Thank you,
Mary N.

I have a disconnect notice for my bill at [redacted] Mason Rd Apt [redacted] for today. I've been in contact with Alliant, and they advised me to call today. Since I couldn't reach them by phone, I'm reaching out this way for assistance. I will receive my check tomorrow and can pay the $[redacted].74 at Hyvee on Agency Street in Burlington tomorrow morning around 8:30. I will then call in with the receipt number. Community Action informed me they might not have information about crisis funds until Friday. Harmony Church accepts applications on Wednesdays. Could I please pay the bill tomorrow morning as mentioned?
