How Do I Speak to Root Insurance About Switching My Car Insurance?

Founded in 2015, Root Insurance takes a significantly different approach to car insurance than traditional providers do. With Root, your monthly premium is determined by the statistics that Root Insurance collects while you drive with the company's DriveApp activated for about three weeks. Once your driving behavior is reviewed, you will be able to see if you qualify for a quote.

Root Insurance works out a unique rate for you by taking into account your driving score, along with your credit score, your age, your marital status and the type of vehicle you drive. As long as you drive safely and responsibly, Root Insurance ensures that its insurance quote will beat any other insurance company's offer.

To start the process of switching to Root Insurance, follow the below steps.

Requesting a Quote

  1. Go to the Root Insurance website and submit a quote request.
  2. Enter your phone number. You'll be sent a link with the instructions to download the DriveApp.
  3. Follow the instructions to download and install the DriveApp. Ensure that your GPS location is activated in your device's settings, since the app must have that setting activated to track your driving behavior correctly.
  4. Drive as normal. After approximately three weeks, the DriveApp should have had enough time to gather the information it needs to provide a quote.
  5. Once your driving behavior has been assessed, you'll receive a quote in the DriveApp. If you wish, accept the quote through the app.
  6. Select the "Cancel My Current Insurance" option in the app. Root Insurance handles the cancellation on your behalf.
  7. If you need further assistance with setting up the policy, contact Root Insurance's customer service.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Root Insurance Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
