You can cancel your Monster.com Account if you no longer need it. When you cancel your account, all the saved information will be deleted permanently as well. You will lose access to your profile, saved jobs, cover letters resumes, saved searches, and messages. If you are okay with that, follow these steps to cancel your account;

1. Click on the name at the top right and choose 'Account Settings'

2. Click on the 'Cancel membership' link

3. Click 'yes' on the summary/review page

4. Click on the button 'Cancel Your Account'

You do not need to delete your Monster account just because you are not currently looking for a job. You can suspend the account for a while. This option allows you to retain your saved searches, resumes, an apply history. However, it won't be possible for employers to find your resume. You can suspend your account by following these steps;

1. Make your Resume Private

If you make your resume private, employers can't find you. Your resume will remain in Monster and you can use it in the future. Click on your name at the top right and select 'Resumes/cover letters.' Click on the 'Public' status link and update the visibility setting to private.

2. Turn Off Saved Search Agent Emails

If your saved search is saved to not deliver emails, you can still access it by running it from your account. Tap on your name in the upper right and select 'My Saved Searches.' Change the 'Email frequency to 'Never.'

3. Update the Notification Settings

You can choose the Monster notifications you receive while your account is paused. Do it by following these steps; click on your name at the top right corner and select 'Account Settings' followed by the 'Notification Settings' tab. Deselect your existing selections and then click 'Save changes.'

If You Don't Want to Receive Emails

You do not need to delete your account if you no longer wish to receive emails from Monster. You can stop them on the notification settings page. You will only continue to receive notifications that are related to your account. The emails are necessary because they may let you know about security threats.

Re-Creating Your Account

If you want your account back after deleting it, you need to create a new one. It is impossible to recover your profile and its details after a cancellation. Follow these steps to create a new account;

1. Open Monster website and navigate to the home page

2. Go to the 'Join Us' link

3. On the 'become a member' form, complete all the text boxes

4. Activate the 'Create account' button

5. You will be redirected to a new page showing that you have signed up

6. If there are problems with validation on your page, the page will be refreshed and you will see an error summary. There will be links to show you where the errors may have appeared.

7. Click on the link in your email to confirm your membership.
