Under the CARES Act, workers who may not have qualified for unemployment insurance, including self-employed workers and part-time employees can receive Pandemic Unemployment Assistance benefits for up to 39 weeks, or until June 27, 2020. The also gives claimants an additional $600 each week in benefits.

To file for unemployment insurance benefits in Mississippi you will need to have worked on the state for the previous 18 months. Claimants will have to provide dates of employment and your employer's information, as well as your personal information, including a valid email address. The typical work search requirements have been waived. Additionally, all collections, claimant overpayment garnishes are suspended until June 27, 2020.
