I live in Egypt and own a **** Peugeot model **** *.*L Turbo. In September of ****, I experienced air-conditioner troubles. One day it was fine, the next it would not cool. I took it to the authorized Peugeot service center in Cairo when it was time for its **,***km service (January ****). The service center recharged the freon, and the cooling lasted about a week. As it was January*February, it didn't cause me much concern, and I waited until the next service opportunity to check it more thoroughly. I was in Alexandria when it was due for its **,***km service (August ****). I took it to the authorized Peugeot service center there in Alexandria, and they discovered a faulty pin-valve. They replaced it, recharged the system, and the AC worked fine. December ****, I took the car to the authorized Peugeot service center in Cairo for its **,***km service. At the time, they said the coolant was "discolored." They flushed and filled it. When I left, the AC didn't work. As it was necessary for me to return to them after ****km to check on the flush and fill, I asked them to fix the AC since it was working when I brought it to them and wasn't when I left. They say the "coil" is bad and want to charge me **,*** Egyptian pounds (about *** EURO) to replace it. The car is barely three years old, and the AC was working fine before taking it to the Cairo service center. Also, neither the coil nor the condenser nor any other AC related part costs as much as they are quoting. I want Peugeot to fix the problem - whatever it is - for free. The AC should not be having such troubles in a relatively young car, and the Cairo service center is either at fault for it not working, or if it is a real problem, they are inflating the cost of the needed parts and service.
