Check my sugar as an insulin dependent diabetic on the insulin pump, the Independent Health Insurance company only pays for my supply if billed as me being an insulin dependent diabetic. My previous contact with Minimed billing had them saying that it was done already. BUT this lack of payment shows that it was not done right, AGAIN. ... My insurance company is not paying because they say, "the claim for date of service ********** from Minimed Distribution Corp was reviewed. This claim was not processing to your deductible because on your plan there is a limit of *** test strips every ** days only when the member is insulin dependent, otherwise, the limit is *** test strips every ** days, or *** every **. The provider has to bill the claim with an insulin dependent diabetic diagnosis on the claim for you to be covered for a quan***y greater than *** test strips per ** days. Minimed is not billing this claim with an diagnosis code that indicates that you are insulin dependent..." This has caused Minimed to misbill us repeatedly, PLUS the $**** deductible paid by us more than once now, is said by the insurance company to have not been paid yet. SO*they are illegally not paying you, thus are illegally causing you to bill us.
NOW we are being billed by Minimed for $***.** when we should only have a payment of $** because of meeting the deductible of the insurance for our insulin diabetic test strips over the last year of payments. Meaning a $** co-pay for any diabetic prescriptions.
FIX the billing communication with Independent Health, and LOT's of patience because of all the work that's needed to fix the billing for Rhapsodie McClintick
I've been a customer with Minimed since before **** like **** or around then. I've shared information to help the company, and I've caused other people to seek out Minimed for healthcare, including my endocrinoligist's office.
Multiple contacts and interactions with the insurance company and with Minimed billing. Most recently I've put a complaint in the BBB about Independent Health, and I may need to do so for Minimed, because your billing department has continued to mess up this process, plus it has no email contact, which we can save to show the communication. The treatment by the billing department wasn't good, for any business, let alone a healthcare business.
