Hello, my name is Lauren and I am seeking information regarding eligibility for support. Currently, my partner, aged thirty-seven, is considering leaving his full-time job to pursue a college education. He plans to retake five GCSEs over one year, followed by an access course to engineering over another year, and then progress to an Engineering degree over three years. Our income is low, and while we know about the support available at the university level, we are unsure about the help available at the college level. We have two children, aged six and five, with a third on the way, which has motivated my partner to seek a career change. We currently rent a two-bedroom home from a housing association. It might be feasible for my partner to work part-time, but it would be challenging for him to work full-time while pursuing education. As I am five months pregnant, gaining employment myself seems unlikely. I am interested in understanding the assistance we may qualify for, such as housing benefits, income support, or any loans and bursaries at the college level. I had difficulty using benefits calculators due to technical issues and hope for guidance on what support is available. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Best regards, Lauren
