The issue in GetHuman-johnkoag's own words
To Whom It May Concern** My husband and myself live in florida, and we were in New York my husbands home town because his mother was passing away. My husband had made arrangements to meet up with a cousin at the New Hartford NY, *** French Rd *****. On June *rd **** just before we got there he received a call that his mother passed, but he was already there so we went in to eat and talk about family. I believe the young waitress that served us was Ashely.(she was a petite young women) We ordered and even though she brought two ice teas, and we only ordered one i didn't bother to tell her. My husband and his cousin went outside while i proceeded to pay for the meals which the bill was $**.**. I paid by my bank card, and before she swiped it i said i would like to pay it by debit not credit. I watched her swipe it then take a hard copy (old style credit card slips, and put my card in between papers and using another card and scratching over the top of the top papers for it to pick up the information on the card. I then said again i wanted to pay by debit, and you swiped it already, she then said our machine is down, and the manager it gone, but it was working when he was there. The next morning june *th **** my husband checked our bank, and it showed two charges for that meal pending. I phoned the restaurant to talk to the manager,and a older women kept saying why do you want to talk to him, and would not let me speak to him. I got frustrated, so my sister in law talked to someone, and they told her that it takes ** to ** hours for it to come clear it up. I wasn't happy but what could i do we are ** hours away from our bank, and we were dealing with a death. My Husband check the bank on June *th, and low and behold we were charged the Third time, and yes all were still pending. The *th of june **** was my mother in law funeral, and we have to be on the phone AGAIN with a manager this time trying to rectify this , and make sure there wasn't going to be * , *, * time. My sister in law was the one that talked to him, but i was right beside her, and heard everything they said. He proceeded to tell her that he lost a short while back a group of family members at one time, and could feel for what we were going through. He asked for my card number, and name i did give it to my sister in law to give him.( i didn't want to but was told he needed it to take it off right away, and he said they will not charge us for our meals (bill) considering what happened with being charged * times. To no surprise we were charged for our meal, and instead of things taking ** to ** hours it only took june * th **** for it to be resolved other then the first charge. I know pending means they didn't not get the money, but the thing is my husband got a call that his mother had a massive stroke, and to get there as soon as possible, so it was not a planned trip, and then because people don't know how to do things it held $***.** of our money till June *th. Would you be happy that a business did that to you especially when you are dealing with a parents death, and funeral. I think you can understand why i am very frustrated, and upset of what happened. I would like some answers please. I don't think this was dealt with properly by the the manager, and also the staff at *****. I will be grateful for your prompt response. Kimberly Koagel
