I am a 61-year-old disabled man who has faced challenges during this pandemic. I relied on my SSI disability and part-time work as a substitute educator in the Kent Public School District. Due to COVID-19, my work stopped in March [redacted]. I applied for unemployment benefits under the "Cares Act" but recently discovered my eligibility was denied as I hadn't worked the required hours due to my disability limiting my working hours. With limited income from SSI, I received only one payment so far. This has left me struggling to cover expenses beyond rent, causing significant stress. I seek advice and assistance to navigate this financial crisis before it worsens. The uncertainty and impact on my ability to meet basic needs have put me in a state of panic, and I am reaching out for support to stabilize my situation.

I am having trouble applying for pandemic unemployment benefits due to my unique employment situation. I worked for a non-profit that does not contribute to unemployment, and my work as a school employee did not meet the minimum work hours for qualification. I have been unsuccessful in setting up an online account to contact the Department due to password issues. I have been out of work and in need of assistance since mid-March but have been unable to reach anyone via phone or get helpful information from elected officials. Please assist me in qualifying for unemployment benefits quickly. - M. Bunnell

I have been waiting for my benefits for the past eight weeks, but unfortunately, my initial benefits were sent back to the unemployment office by Greendot, as my account was blocked and then closed by them. I was informed that my benefits of around $[redacted].00 would be released on June 15. However, I have yet to receive any payments, causing me to face repossession of my car and eviction. I have contributed to unemployment in Michigan and Washington throughout my adult life and never expected to be in this situation. I am thankful for the assistance but feel let down by the delays. I am struggling to make ends meet and would appreciate any help or guidance. Thank you.

I encountered an issue with my benefits application when prompted to reapply, which seemed to disrupt my ability to file weekly claims on time. Despite attempting to resolve this through secure messages, the problem still persists. Additionally, my recent payment was significantly lower, possibly due to over-deductions for child support or unknown reasons. This has caused frustration and confusion, especially concerning a missed claim from around July 18. Seeking urgent assistance.

I initiated my claim on June 20, [redacted], hoping for a resolution but faced delays and confusion for months. Today, I finally received my determination letter with an outcome that left me disappointed. Witnessing questionable behavior from a provider and colleagues within the clinic, I raised concerns to my supervisor repeatedly, only to be labeled as "unhappy." The situation made me consider leaving long ago. It's frustrating to think that decisions impacting unemployment benefits are made by individuals who seem to have mishandled funds by not verifying IDs. It's disheartening to see the honest workers paying the price. Whistleblowing doesn't seem safe or protected in this scenario. The system seems flawed and unjust for those striving for an honest living.

I have been waiting for my benefits since April. I have already been approved from April 4, [redacted] until July 31, [redacted], receiving approval letters every week since August 1, [redacted], up until last Saturday. I have been approved for the new $[redacted] extra a week, but I have not received any benefits yet. I am currently sick and in quarantine due to covid-19, with upcoming bills, including my mortgage, piling up. Like many Americans, I live paycheck to paycheck. I have been patient, understanding the workload you are facing, but I am reaching a breaking point. I can't wait any longer, as I am at risk of losing everything. It seems like everyone I know who applied for unemployment has already received their benefits. What is causing the delay in my case?

I accidentally marked myself as not able and available for work multiple times when I was actually available. I received a letter on September 4th stating that I am now qualified to receive my money backdated to April, but I have not received anything yet. Additionally, I forgot my password and cannot access the email or phone number linked to my account. Can anyone assist me with these issues? Thank you.

I did not receive my payment on 12/9/20 and only noticed the issue on 12/11/20 when I checked my checking account balance. When trying to call, the line is constantly busy and eventually gets disconnected. The recorded message indicates a 52-minute wait but I am unable to stay on hold. I have been unable to file my claim for the week ending 12/11/20. When attempting to restart my claim, the system mentioned something about filing next week. I am concerned about missing payments for 12/9/20 and 12/16/20. Additionally, I wanted to inquire about applying for the extra $[redacted] per week that I initially declined due to some work hours I had. My main priority is to receive my past two weeks' payments and resume regular payments. My work hours have significantly reduced from over 20 hours per week to an undetermined amount weekly.

I am inquiring if there is any new or additional information regarding the status of my claim. It has been showing as 'in adjudication' for almost three months since I first submitted it. I am aware of the current backlog in unemployment claims processing and the lack of a public contact number for the department handling adjudication. However, after being in this state of uncertainty for three months, I am hoping for some clarity beyond the generic message of 'still pending, please stand by.' It would be helpful to have some indication of where my claim stands in the process or confirmation that it is actively being reviewed and not lost within the system. Any information, even vague timelines, would be greatly appreciated compared to the current situation of uncertainty surrounding my claim.

I was approved for unemployment last year but ran into an issue on December 26th when I had to provide a copy of my social security card. Unfortunately, mine was stolen during a break-in at my home, making it hard to meet the requirements. After struggling to reach the right department, I contacted the State Department of Health, which was able to send me a copy. I promptly submitted it to unemployment, but since then, my benefits have been stopped, and I was informed of an overpayment. Despite trying to follow up, I haven't heard back, leaving me frustrated and confused about the delay in restarting my benefits.

I discovered that I have not received my unemployment benefits, and Key Bank informed me that my account has been closed by you. Key Bank is unable to investigate and refund the payments without access to my account. To proceed with disputing the transactions, they require my Key Bank card account to be reopened by you. I urgently need to understand how to request the reopening of my Key Bank card account for Key Bank to review and refund the funds. Thank you.

I recently had a conversation with an unemployment representative who helped me with resolving some issues. One of the tasks was verifying my identification. It was brought to my attention that a claim was pending due to missing paperwork from my doctor stating I was cleared to return to work. I have since submitted the required documents, but I am uncertain if they were attached correctly or received in the appropriate location. I am eager to receive guidance on any additional steps I may need to take to resolve these matters and resume receiving my payments. Thank you.
