My Ruud model UGRA-10EZAJS furnace is experiencing issues with the flame sensor circuit. The service contractor has replaced the flame sensor and control board, but the problem persists. After the last board replacement, the system worked for about an hour before losing the flame circuit again. The yellow LED on the board is not lighting up, indicating an issue. The contractors have ruled out grounding issues and no electrical changes have been made to the house. The furnace has been running smoothly since [redacted]/[redacted]. We are currently without heat since Tuesday, and the factory support is closed until Monday. It's frustrating given the holiday season. The burner lights up but goes out after about 3 seconds due to the lack of flame detection. The serial number is DF5D707F[redacted]47. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

In November [redacted], I had a Heat Pump/Propane furnace system installed. By February [redacted], the fan failed due to a defective squirrel cage causing it to gradually move down the motor shaft until hitting the fan housing. The vibration, although slight, led to this issue. The installer replaced the fan cage and motor under warranty, charging me for two hours of labor. I believe the manufacturer should cover the labor as the fan was faulty from installation. Do Ruud ever extend the warranty for repair labor when defective parts cause failures? Thank you, Steve Musil.

We recently installed a new condenser unit and air handler and are concerned about the noise levels. Despite ensuring sufficient air intake and adding more registers for even air dispersion, the system remains noisy. We have a few questions regarding this situation:
1) Could the discrepancy between our 2 1/2 ton condenser unit and 3 ton air handler be causing the noise issue? Does a larger air handler typically generate more noise compared to a smaller one?
2) Additionally, we've noticed a buzzing sound emanating from the condenser during operation. Is there a way to eliminate this noise?
3) We would appreciate guidance on further noise reduction strategies for both units, as well as minimizing the sound of air rushing through the ducts and registers. Despite stable registers without vibrations or rattles, the air handler appears to be overpowering with excessive air speed. Is there a method to decrease the airflow and slow down the fan speed?

My heat pump, which is less than 2 years old, has developed a leak and leaked all the freon. The repairman is charging $[redacted]. I am displeased as I believe this should be considered a defect in the manufacturer's product. I feel like the repair should be covered under warranty as it is clearly a defect in the equipment that I paid top dollar for. It's frustrating how a company like Ruud, claiming to be world-class, can have this issue. I even jokingly renamed them "Cruud."

Subject: Air Conditioning Unit Performance Concern
I am reaching out about an air conditioning unit that was installed in my mother's home on October 11, [redacted]. Attached are copies of the warranty and unit paperwork for your reference. Despite numerous service calls, the unit is still not cooling properly as of yesterday, prompting me to seek a resolution.
Since its installation, the unit has required various repairs including Freon refills, capacitor replacements, freezing issues, thermostat replacements, and operational failures. The unit's performance has been unreliable, and I am considering replacement options for one that will provide the expected service level commensurate with the substantial investment made.
I appreciate the installer's responsiveness to our service calls, but the frequent malfunctions of the unit are concerning. I would like to explore solutions to ensure we have a functioning unit that does not require constant maintenance and repairs.
Sincerely,
Dot M., POA for A.D.
I have the warranty available if needed. Feel free to reach out for a copy.

I needed to adjust the airflow in my house. The back is much cooler than the front. I contacted J & J Cooling and Heating and spoke with their technician, Lee. He came on 8/7/[redacted], but only spent 15 minutes without resolving the issue, still charging $85.00. I reached out again on 8/10/[redacted], but Lee never returned my call. My experience with Home Advisor repair services was also disappointing. Being 70 years old on a fixed income, I cannot afford more repair expenses. If I knew where the air handlers were, I would attempt to fix it myself. I prefer not to complain but wanted to share my feedback to let you know how your company is perceived. I bought a Rudd Air Conditioner brand new in February [redacted] and had it installed by a certified technician. In May [redacted], it stopped working, and I discovered a broken contact and a faulty compressor. I paid $[redacted].00 for an emergency technician but they couldn't fix it since the compressor needed to be replaced, and it was a Sunday. I was then charged an additional $[redacted].00 for the repair, totaling $[redacted].00 for a 13-month-old unit, which is unacceptable. I'm very familiar with air conditioners due to living in Florida for 36 years and have reasonable expectations. I experienced this issue on May 6th, and due to Covid, it has been challenging to pursue reimbursement because of closures. I kindly request help in getting a refund for this unexpected expense.

I recently arranged for a local air conditioning service to maintain my 3-year-old Ruud Airconditioner. The technician serviced it and billed me $[redacted].00 to replace the Capacitor. I observed the replacement, which took approximately 30-40 minutes.
Upon reflecting on the service cost, I researched the part and discovered it costs around $25.00. I contacted the company about the price discrepancy, and their response was, "Well, you accepted it." When I inquired about the Capacitor's actual cost, I was informed it was $[redacted].00. As a senior citizen living alone, I feel taken advantage of, believing the technician arbitrarily overcharged me assuming I wouldn't notice.
I am seeking advice on the options available to address this situation with the company.

I had my new Rudd air conditioning unit replaced in September [redacted]. From the start, I noticed it wasn't working properly. I've contacted the contractor who did the installation (I purchased it directly from Rudd) several times about the issues, but they haven't been resolved. I am now reaching out to Rudd directly to file a claim because my unit still isn't working correctly. I hope to get this matter resolved promptly. Thank you.

I am frustrated as I purchased a new Ruud a/c unit in May [redacted] to replace a unit that served me well for 40 years. Despite being a loyal Ruud customer, my new unit had issues shortly after installation with the evaporator coil icing over. The installer replaced the coil, suspecting a leak, and recharged the unit. It worked for only 4 months. When I recently started it up again in [redacted], the same issue occurred. My original installer, with 15 years of experience, left the HVAC industry due to low-quality equipment. Dealing with an "Official Ruud Dealer," Precision Air replaced the Expansion Valve, demanding $[redacted]. I feel frustrated that a new unit requires such repairs, believing Ruud should cover all costs. Despite emailing Ruud twice without reply, Precision Air insists on payment, but I believe it should not be my responsibility.

I am in need of a replacement blower fan for my 2.5 ton Rheem unit, purchased on 9-21-20 and installed on 9-30-[redacted]. The contractor has informed me that the blower fan motor needs to be replaced, and although it is under warranty, there is uncertainty regarding its availability. The serial number for the unit is W[redacted]61, and the model number is RQPM-A042JK010. It has been a week since the order was placed, and I am seeking an update on the status of the motor. Thank you for your assistance with this matter.
