My return seems to be under review by the NY State Tax Department without a clear reason given. They are now asking for hard copies of documents they likely already received electronically, causing me inconvenience as I am unable to find this paperwork. In my view, this request feels like unnecessary harassment and goes against the state's transparency policy. It seems inefficient for them to request physical copies when the information is already in their system and easily accessible.

My property tax relief check for $[redacted].00 is missing. I suspect it got lost while I was out yesterday, 9/23/[redacted]. I'd like to request a stop-payment on the missing check and have a new one issued promptly considering I have a sizeable tax payment due. If the missing check is found, I will inform you immediately. The check was likely issued in June [redacted]. Your assistance in expediting this process is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help, and I appreciate the useful link provided. Take care.

I am facing challenges in filing my NYS tax returns due to issues with TaxAct. It seems like I might have to submit incorrect forms indicating I owe $[redacted] in taxes instead of the usual $16 I pay with my extension. I suspect I may have mistakenly filed my NYS Teachers Retirement information in the wrong section. To correct this, I would need to e-file the inaccurate forms to access my copy. I am unsure if I should proceed with this and pay the $[redacted], potentially expecting a refund later. I am also concerned about possible late filing penalties, despite my attempts to file on time using TaxAct in previous years. As I have medical tests scheduled, I will need to contact your phone support soon to address these tax filing issues before the hospital closes tomorrow morning.

My identity has been stolen by my neighbor. My birth and social security details have been compromised. It's vital to address this matter promptly. I am the actress Shirley Temple's baby, JoVana Consalvi Esposito. My home at [redacted] Calhoun Ave, Bronx, NY [redacted], was tax-exempt. I am the heiress of Morris/Consalvi. Barbara Cavaluzzi is involved in a legal dispute with NYC Social Services over my property. She has fraudulently used my ID while working at Con Ed on 14 Irving Place in [redacted] during her time at Preston High School Work Study. This has also impacted my acting and modeling aspirations at Barbizon School. I am Janka Cvorovic and even my State Dept Certificate has been stolen. There has been a lawsuit concerning Ann Esposito and Cinemax in [redacted]. I require assistance as my scholarships meant for Ivy League and Oxford were unlawfully taken. This has caused significant financial harm, including the misappropriation of my property and funds. My situation is complex and involves illegal actions affecting my federal protection and housing matters. It is crucial to address these issues promptly for resolution.

To Whom It May Concern,
Good morning, this is Daniel Rios. I used to live in NY and worked at New World Preparatory Charter. Since my employment ended in May [redacted], I have faced challenges including a car accident and legal issues. I wanted to inform the relevant department about my circumstances and the pending payments through my former employer's payroll. I have relocated to Puerto Rico with my brother and found a job as a security guard. I am still waiting for tax return information from last year and my W2 from NWP. I hope to resolve these matters and arrange a fair monthly payment plan once my situation improves financially. My updated contact details are [redacted] and [redacted]. Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Daniel Rios

In [redacted], I received a notice from the NYS Dept of Tax and Finance stating that I owe taxes from [redacted] and [redacted], totaling just over $[redacted] for each year. Surprisingly, this was the first notification we received about these back taxes, so I acted quickly and sent a check for the total amount of $[redacted] to cover both years. Additionally, I paid $[redacted] for copies of my Federal returns to contest the information. Despite filing promptly, we have not received our [redacted] refund, and now we are facing double penalties and interest fees dating back to [redacted]. In January [redacted], we even received an "Income Execution" notice with penalty and interest fees totaling over $[redacted]. Although we received refunds for the years 2[redacted], there seems to be confusion about the amounts owed and a possible refund due to us. I have been in touch with several representatives but have had difficulty reaching the billing department. It's crucial not to deduct from my spouse's wages, as this oversight was unintentional. This situation is distressing, especially since my spouse will soon be losing their job after 31 years of service, and our family relies solely on his income. I eagerly await your response. Thank you.

We have been attempting to settle our tax debt for years. Unfortunately, our progress has been hindered by the ineffective agent assigned to us. It is extremely frustrating that we are unable to communicate directly with the tax authorities without going through this unhelpful intermediary. Despite our willingness to pay off the state's owed money, the lack of cooperation and communication has led to our accounts being seized. The recent behavior of the agent, who fails to notify us in person and leaves cards on our door, is unacceptable. We simply seek a payment plan arrangement to fulfill our tax obligations. Due to my husband's illness and the financial impact it has caused, drastic measures like divorce have been considered. However, all we want is to resolve this matter with a competent and helpful agent.

I recently received a letter regarding funds being taken from my disability check by your department. Despite not having worked for years due to my health issues including lupus, depression, bipolar disorder, and osteoporosis, additional money is being requested. I have undergone multiple surgeries due to being a victim of a domestic crime and have since moved from New York to a different state. Please refrain from sharing my contact number, [redacted], as it is private and linked to my current location. I am withholding my name until contacted by your department to discuss this urgent matter. Kindly reach out as soon as possible to address this situation. Thank you.

I am facing a challenge with my finances as my sole income is from Social Security and a NYS pension amounting to $29,[redacted] annually. I am a 76-year-old disabled widow in a wheelchair, living with my 57-year-old visually impaired daughter who has been unemployed for 2 1/2 years. Recently, the state of New York has placed a hold on my checking account, leaving me unable to spare any extra money. Despite being informed previously that my account would not be affected due to my limited income sources, I have now received a notice demanding a response within 10 days. However, every time I attempt to contact the agents, they are always occupied, prompting me to call back multiple times. Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I have noticed that $70 is deducted from my bank account monthly for NY taxes, even though I believe I do not owe any taxes. I have already contacted my bank, who advised me to reach out to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. Unfortunately, I am unable to speak directly to someone when I call their number as my issue does not align with the provided options. I would appreciate any assistance on this matter.

I am seeking to meet with a tax advocate to address ongoing tax issues. After working for NYS for 40 years, I chose TIAA/CREF for my retirement instead of NYS Retirement. I have faced constant audits from the NYS Tax Department in recent years and wish to resolve this to move forward with my wife. Although a tax advocate was supposed to assist us, we have not received any information about who they are or when we can start the reconciliation process. Thank you, R. and D. Steiner.

I came across a [redacted] State of New York Department of Taxation and Finance Property Tax Relief check while organizing my files. Unfortunately, I had misplaced it, so I didn't deposit it into my Federal Credit Union Bank account last year. About a week ago, I deposited the check into my Credit Union Bank. Recently, I received a letter from them stating "return reason - S and refer to maker." I discovered that there is a 90-day limit to deposit checks. The details of the check are as follows: check no: [redacted]0 for $[redacted].60 payable to Philippa A. Vose. Would it be possible to issue me a new check?

I e-filed my federal and NY tax returns. Unfortunately, my federal return got rejected due to an alleged incorrect AGI from [redacted], though I know I entered the correct AGI. The IRS informed me that I must mail my federal return since it was rejected, which in turn led to my NY return being rejected as well. As NY doesn't permit mailing returns, I'm unsure how to proceed with filing my NY return. Can anyone advise on how to handle this situation with my NY return?
Thank you,

I am seeking clarity on the assessment of a property located at 29 Albion Cross Roads in the town of Albion, Oswego County. I am puzzled by the significant decrease in property value from $[redacted],[redacted] in [redacted]-17 to $46,[redacted] following a tax auction and subsequent improvements without an updated tax assessment. I have attempted to address this discrepancy with the local assessor, Mr. Mike Maxwell, but have not received a satisfactory explanation. I am concerned about the fairness of property tax assessments and suspect a pattern of undervaluation in properties associated with Mr. M. I urge authorities to investigate this matter to ensure equity in tax payments and revenue for the county and state. Your attention to this issue is appreciated. Thank you, Mike K., [redacted] Bull Run Road, Parish, NY.

I have been attempting to contact someone for days without success. Last spring on March 2nd, I applied for a sales tax ID in preparation for a trade show in NYC on April 4th, which was eventually canceled. Consequently, I did not conduct any sales or business in New York State. Upon applying for the ID, I was informed via email that I would receive further information from the Department of Taxation and Finance regarding my filing requirements and the first sales tax return due date. Regrettably, I did not receive any follow-up until last week, when I was notified of a past-due return from June 22nd. Despite numerous attempts to seek clarification, I have only encountered automated phone systems and frustrating dead-ends. Today, after finally getting through to an agent, I was directed to a supposed live agent specialized in sales tax, only to be left navigating through another unhelpful phone tree. Subsequent calls have only led to messages about high call volumes and no resolution in sight. Can anyone offer assistance with this issue?

I had an overpayment to the Department of Labor, which I cleared with last year's taxes. However, both the federal and state governments deducted the owed amount, causing an issue. Although the state returned the funds realizing the error, I recently received a [redacted]-G form for unemployment compensation on the previously reimbursed sum. The federal government warns this could affect my state taxes. Despite numerous attempts to contact the New York State Department of Labor and tax department, I can't reach a human for assistance. Even when providing my social security number, they claim no records exist of the [redacted]-G form. Frustratingly, they suggest filing a claim, but as a disability recipient without recent work history, I face an ongoing challenge in resolving this matter.
