Life Storage recently informed me that my payment was declined because my card was allegedly expired as of August [redacted]. I'm perplexed by this as my account is sufficiently funded, and my card is functioning without issues elsewhere. This situation has escalated to the point where I received a notice stating that my stored belongings will soon be auctioned off. Unfortunately, attempting to address this with the branch staff has been unproductive as they lack the necessary interest or authority to assist me. Complicating matters further, I am currently located in the UK, making it impossible for me to visit the Life Storage branch or my bank in person.
There seems to be a lack of evidence supporting their claim and a dearth of individuals in positions of authority to handle the issue, making me feel like I am being extorted for the second time. I urgently require the contact information for a senior-level individual at Life Storage who can: a) prevent the auction of my possessions and b) provide proof that the payment was declined. I am more than willing to settle my outstanding storage fees promptly but refuse to pay additional late charges for a supposed default without concrete evidence. It appears that either Life Storage or my bank is to blame for this predicament. In the meantime, my valuable belongings are at significant risk unless I comply without clarification, leaving me in limbo with no means to rectify the underlying payment issue. Thank you.

I recently rented a storage unit from Life Storage. However, after a week, a clerk contacted me to inform me that they would not honor the contract I had signed due to a management change. I was surprised to hear that the manager I dealt with was no longer there, and a person named Uria mentioned a new price when we spoke loudly on December 18th. Uria left a message asking me to call him, which made me anxious about the condition of my unit. When I inquired about my rent, which was listed as $40 for three months in the contract, Uria stated it was now $[redacted], claiming he had informed me it was $[redacted]. I found this conflicting, as I distinctly remember signing up for $40.
