I am currently not employed, and my income is derived from 2 IRA retirement accounts through interest and dividends. Federal Law requires me to take minimum distributions annually, which I have been doing. When I take these distributions, I pay taxes to both the federal government and the State of Illinois. The bank handling my account insists on withholding and remitting taxes during these distributions. Following a partial distribution earlier this year, the bank sent $[redacted] to the State of Illinois as partial payment for my [redacted] state taxes. As I have not taken any further withdrawals, the $46.40 Late Estimated Payment Penalty appears unjustified. I have the ability to control when the bank disburses funds to me, and more withdrawals are expected later in the year. Kindly waive the $46.40 penalty.

Hello! Our daughter is a graduate student at Loyola University and is employed there. In [redacted], we forgot to include her W-2 from Loyola when filing taxes, leading to an oversight in not filing a state return for Illinois, only a federal return. I have since amended the federal return, but now we need to file the original state return for [redacted]. Additionally, while filing her taxes via TurboTax on 4/15/19, both returns were rejected because I mistakenly claimed her as a dependent on our tax return. I fixed the federal return, but she mailed an incorrect IL State tax return, showing a refund instead of a payment of $5, as she does not have an Illinois driver's license and is a temporary resident. Your assistance is appreciated!

I submitted our 2[redacted] tax return in February [redacted], and despite numerous calls, we were informed it was in process until March. During the latest call, we were instructed to call back in August. We are due a $3,[redacted].00 refund. My Social Security Number is [redacted]-60-[redacted], and I am a resident of Colorado named William T. McGee. Although my email, [redacted], is marked as invalid, it is correct. My wife, Maureen A. Barrett-McGee, with SSN [redacted]-48-[redacted], also encountered issues with her valid SSN deemed as invalid in the system. Her email is [redacted] We have experienced long hold times up to 45 minutes and encountered a malfunctioning system. We seek assistance in receiving our income tax refund promptly. Thank you, William T. McGee

I'm currently completing the Illinois Residency Verification Questionnaire, and I'm confused about Question #7. It asks about activities related to my residency status in Illinois before and after moving away. Specifically, it mentions actions like purchasing Illinois auto license plates and renewing an Illinois driver's license. I moved out of Illinois at the start of [redacted] and returned at the end of [redacted]. Does Question #7 pertain only to the period when I lived in another state or does it also cover the time since I relocated back to Illinois? I appreciate any assistance in clarifying this issue.

I am inquiring about my State of Illinois tax refund status. The online system is not providing detailed information, which is frustrating. I submitted my income tax return via Turbo Tax on April 10, [redacted], and as of today, June 6, [redacted], I have not received any updates besides a generic message stating that my return is being processed. I find the lack of transparency concerning. I have always paid my taxes on time and expect the same level of efficiency from the state when it comes to issuing refunds. It is disheartening that as a law-abiding citizen, I am left in the dark about the status of my refund. I hope to connect with a live person soon to address this issue and receive the refund promptly.
