Hello, I am Monique Handy. I have been employed with your company intermittently for 23 years, originally from Miami, Florida, and now residing in Houston, Texas. I have never experienced racial discrimination at any Denny's restaurant except at the establishment located at [redacted] Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX [redacted]. I have encountered discrimination from the night manager, Cathy, and the general manager, Ishmael, both of whom I have spoken with and have evidence to support my claims. In this restaurant, there seems to be favoritism towards certain employees, with family members often working together. Despite all employees being trained similarly about side-work and punctuality, there are discrepancies in how these rules are enforced. I have personally faced issues with seating arrangements and receiving unequal treatment compared to my colleagues. Additionally, there are concerns about unprofessional behavior from the kitchen staff, specifically one cook who displayed inappropriate behavior. I have decided to involve a lawyer due to the severity of these incidents and have left my employment due to the hostile environment. I am seeking a resolution to these matters and would appreciate prompt communication to address these issues. Thank you.

After a long drive to check on my best friend's father in Hazel Green, AL, we booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express in Huntsville. Feeling hungry, we decided to go to Denny's, which was conveniently located. Despite being told by the local store on University Dr. that they closed at 12, when we arrived at 11:13, the doors were locked. The staff inside informed us they were closed and continued with their end-of-shift tasks without helping. This was frustrating as the internet indicated they were open until midnight, not 11:15. It was quite aggravating to experience this miscommunication after a tiring journey.

A 24-year-old African American woman, currently employed, met with a white dean from a local tech school, an older African American male Ph.D. academic, and an older white retired psychiatric chaplain after her shift. This meeting was to discuss and interview her for admission to an academic program ideal for disadvantaged students who work while studying. After her shift, she changed to present herself well for the informal meeting, ordered appetizers, and engaged with the participants. The waitress, a white individual of similar age, displayed emotional attachment to a child, indicated by tattoos of baby shoes, and provided respectful service. The meeting went positively for the prospective student, who left happily. The next day, the African American waitress was indefinitely suspended for not complying with the hair policy, allegedly for not tying up her hair. The customer and colleague witnessed racist, verbally abusive comments towards her in the past, which she handled professionally. The customer is advocating for a fair resolution, expressing concerns about racial implications and advocating for corrective action aligned with the company's values. Rev. Jason Harding M.Div respectfully urges Denny's to address the situation thoughtfully.

I recently visited a restaurant in Eagle Pass, Texas [redacted] for the first time. I was a bit hesitant initially, but the food turned out to be hot and delicious. However, I was disappointed by the servers who were often sitting down and neglecting the customers. It was concerning to hear them complain frequently. This establishment is new in the area, and I genuinely want to see it thrive. There seems to be an issue with the choice of management, as the manager, Elizabeth, who is rumored to be a local prostitute, seems to have selected her colleagues without proper consideration. I urge the management to reconsider their staffing decisions and opt for individuals who are respectful, skilled, and presentable to represent the brand effectively. Thank you.

During breakfast, I observed numerous employees loitering around and acting inappropriately, neglecting their duties. Adding to my disappointment, I discovered a hair in my pancakes, which led me to stop eating. After paying, I went to use the restroom. While inside, an employee came in to clean without considering I was using the facilities. Despite my polite requests to wait, she insisted rudely that she needed to clean immediately. A male voice outside also intervened, prioritizing cleaning over customer privacy. Upon exiting, I encountered a manager who was unsympathetic and discourteous towards my concerns. This experience left me feeling unsupported by the management and more aligned with the employees' standpoint.

I placed an order for a Build Your Own Slam delivery. However, when the Dasher arrived to pick up my food, they claimed there was no order for me. Subsequently, they placed an order through Uber Eats. Upon receiving the delivery, I found cold pancakes and eggs, which were not part of my original Build Your Own Slam order. There were also no napkins or utensils provided, and the eggs were all broken. This experience was unacceptable, especially considering I was charged $37. I am extremely disappointed with the service from Denny's in this instance and am considering taking legal action.

I am currently employed at Denny's on [redacted] Washington Ave in Racine, Wisconsin. I have brought up concerns to the manager, Tonya, regarding mistreatment and lack of teamwork amongst the staff. Despite my efforts, I find myself having to take on additional responsibilities without any support, especially when it comes to tasks like washing dishes. I have observed preferential treatment between employees while I struggle to get help. Although I have raised these issues with management, it seems to have been overlooked. I have also noticed a close relationship between Tonya and Anthony, raising suspicions about fairness in scheduling and distribution of hours. I believe I deserve equal opportunities for shifts based on my hard work and dedication to the job.
