How does an air purifier work?

Asked 7 months ago
An air purifier works by removing harmful particles from the air, improving indoor air quality. It typically consists of a set of filters that capture and trap contaminants such as dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and smoke. As the air is drawn into the purifier, it passes through these filters which effectively trap the particles. Some filters are designed with activated carbon or charcoal layers to absorb odors and volatile organic compounds. High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters are commonly used, removing up to 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. Once the air is purified, it is released back into the room, creating a healthier environment. Some air purifiers also feature additional technologies like UV light or ionizers to kill bacteria and neutralize viruses. Regular filter maintenance is paramount to maintain optimal performance.
